A bounty arrived. Light wheels (1314 grams wheels, tape, valves, freehub) and bits to help answer the question of "why is this Zanc different than every other of your other bikes?"

Thanks @RichTheRoadie - stupidly excited to get these rolling.

side note: rich mailed these to me in NJ from Australia. They got from Australia to SF in less than three days. Then, our awful postal system took three weeks to get them from SF to NJ. Crazy.

How does it work? Not seeing how the filters attach. Magnets?

It's only ok. My favorite masks so far are the cotton ones from swrve. I wear them when I'm in the office quite comfortably and the over the head elastic bungee cord is preferable for me to the over the ear loops. This carbon one is made by Selle Anatomica - it definitely seals well against the face based on the action and sound of the air going through the filters, and they are a bit restrictive to breathe through. The filters are held on by ring shaped magnets - one bonded to the inside, and the outer detachable ones. You have to be careful handling it as they will slide off. The single elastic bang is also kind of cheap and cheesy. By far the thing it does the best is look like Darth Vader's athletic cup strapped to my face.

I have a 3m painters mask with two P95 disc filters that is larger but flows more air. When it was still cold out that was the only thing that would keep my glasses from fogging during constant inside/outside transitions.

upon further wearing - it seals really well around the nose (and everywhere else as well). Don't think my glasses will ever fog up while wearing this one. The strap is still chintzy but with the grippy foam seal it seems to be effective.

I was only wondering yesterday whether these had arrived yet!

Seeing them again is making me think I might grab the 24.5mm ones when pay day rolls around - I like my Turbo Cottons, but the tan colour on the sidewalls of these looks *so* much nicer...

Agree! I'm kind of thinking of getting one, on the weight of that statement, alone.

Save your money until they figure out a better way to secure the filters. The magnets on mine have fallen off twice today, rendering it useless until I picked up all the pieces and reassembled. I can't believe I haven't lost one of those little filters (and they don't send you ANY extras) yet.

A twist lock interface like on the aeropress would be eleventy brazillian percent more secure.

A new (warranty replacement) rim for my gravel bike, and a Park CC-4 chain checker tool ...which, perhaps disappointingly, suggests that I need to find another excuse for why half our bikes shift like crap, because all of our chains are apparently in good shape.

This will come in handy on the 2 miles of rail trail I use to bypass a busy road at the start/end of some rides. Sounds super nice and clear.
