It’s funny, but I (probably like everyone else here) will never lose the thrill of new bike day no matter what bike is inside the box.

First world issue, but there are two fat bikes up in Canada. The normal drill is that one of them comes down to the beach in NY for the summer. But there are border issues as Canada won’t let me in for at least another month due to the US’ mishandling of the virus stuff. The plan is to spend the time we are stuck on this side of the border at the beach.

So, I looked high and low for a relatively inexpensive off the rack fat bike which wasn’t easy to find given the run on bikes that is going on. It also had to be in my wife’s size which is marginally too small but dealable for me in order to get this past she who would otherwise not understand.

In the middle of today’s ride I got a text from FedEx that this had arrived.

I am now packed and ready for summer. I doubt I will be able to sleep tonight from the excitement for the morning trip to the sand.

Ordered two pairs of pants from Swrve on the 21st and they arrived at the PO this morning the 23rd. Unfortunately I forgot the PO closes on Saturday at 12 noon, so I won't get them until Tuesday. My second order from them this month - same solid service. Getting it done.

I still live in some gear i got from them in 2011 on a visit to London.

I’d get more, but they are REALLY hard to get here, unless you don’t mind paying stupid money...

See my thread about their 3/4 shorts
They've also discontinued those wonderful polo t-shirts made with Modal fabric: those were a nice fit on/off the bike, quick drying, no stinking, not colour-fading and not expensive tops. Why on earth have they been discontinued is beyond me!

I finally bought a few pairs of their trouser shorts back in February when they went on sale, and they're now getting tons of mileage. I'm disappointed this is my first run at them, I'll probably pick up some pants eventually.

It started by taking my long-serving Henckels in for sharpening and ended with this beauty because the deal was too good to pass up. It passes the newspaper and arm-shaving test out of the box, so I'm looking forward to moving ze German to backup duty.

Stunning boat. A friend has a Superior Kayak (Mark Rogers) Greenland skin boat that I was able to paddle. Sublime. Your wooden boat is even more stunning.

So timely that you post this. I was padding a couple weeks ago with a different friend who loaned me one of his many Greenland paddles, and he's now making another one for me:) I have been thinking about a kit boat, and this design may just be the one.

This is one of the now-discontinued CLC kit boats. Nash BoatWorks started by one of Mark's students, now is offering the Superior/Mark Rogers designed kits...
