Do you know why the 09 Silver centaur shifters don't click the same way the 09/10 carbon ones click?

Yes. The shift disk is different. Both versions came with the lighter action disk at the beginning of 09. They updated the carbon lever with the new shift disk mid-way through 09. They didn't update the aluminum levers because they were probably already on their way out of the line up. The Veloce levers still have the lighter action shift disk. You can buy the new disk as a replacement part if you want the firmer click in the aluminum Centaur and Veloce levers.

Please let us know how you like them. I'm buying a centaur group for my Colnago and thought about switching about the shifters with my 06 Record shifters. Hell, maybe I'll switch out the whole group if I spring for a carbon crank.

    Birthday gifts:

    • TRP EuroX brakes
    • Chris King headset
    • cash

I took all of them to International Bike Center, along with a used frame and wheelset, and will soon have a new cyclocross bike.

I think so. Maybe try it out a few times this year, and get a little more serious next year if I like it.

Dude! That does rock. It'd be the perfect machine for packing up and heading to Ticino. I tried to remember the exact words... (porco...?) but couldn't.

More closeups. What is it? Rock Lobster?
