Got a new Dynamo light inbound, th B&M IQ Cyo Premium. Very excite!

On a related note, I hate how headlights are named.

A pair of Zonda wheels and some Vittoria tires. Hubs on the wheels feel a little tight just spinning in my hand - hopefully they'll break in and get a bit smoother. Curious to try them - never have used Campy wheels before.

But I could notice the rubber part of the tread where it meets the skinwall wasn't completely even when I spun the wheel? Is that normal? Should I be trying to use that edge (where the tread meets the skinwall) as my basis for alignment?
If you should have one, place the wheel in a wheel stand and use the indicators to assist in aligning the tire, much like you would true a wheel. Equal amounts base tape showing on each side is a good starting point. You might have to deviate slightly from this norm, especially if the tire has been repaired or the tube replaced. Work fast - you don't have very long before the glue starts to set up. Also, I'd argue for an additional coat of mastik on the basetape, as the first coat is quickly absorbed in to the fiber. Of course, individual methods do vary.

Is this the same gent behind the Red Kite Prayer blog? It reads quite similarly.

Thanks for the responses to my tubular questions.

I found the glue sets up on the rim ridiculously fast. How long do you have, realistically) before it gets too hard to make any adjustments? Is the last wet coat a little thicker than the previous coats? I will definitely use the truing stand!

@havisham: Are you saying 2 coats of cured glue on tire and then one wet coat? Right now I have one cured coat, and was going to put one more on right before mounting.

    Thanks!

I'll make all my coats on the rim even. For the last coat, I lay it on, then go get the tire ready to mount. So, between putting the brush down and mounting, probably 30 - 45 sec. No part of the process is rushed, but it moves without hesitation.

And the glue on the tires is dry when I mount.

No harm in opening them up and taking a peek inside just to see what's up. Easy to adjust. Easy to rebuild.

Edit: Oh and after my wife walked off with the 1st and then the 2nd Garmin, I got a new one for myself. The simple boring 500 that still looks way too big on any bike imho.

Finally I can organise my bikes. Well, I could - if I weren't too busy this weekend and didn't have the rest of the garage to organise first...
