Been lurking for a few months, but wanted to introduce myself and join the conversation. Live in SF, ride mostly on the road and some cross. Cheers to the mods and people dropping knowledge.

Just recently started perusing this forum, and liked what I saw so figured I might as well sign up.
Live in central Texas; moved here 10 years ago from NE Indiana. Been riding for 25 years. Started on the road, switched to all dirt and now the past 8 or so years do both - probably 70/30 ratio in favor of pavement.
Married for 26 years with 3 kids (2 in college, one in HS).
Looks like a nice and interesting group here.

33 and living in southern NH. Thanks for having me! Past and future lurker I guess. Hope to build a frame one day or to start making frames as a career.

Side note, does anyone remember Tread The Movie? One of my favorites from a long time ago.

Thanks so much to the moderators and all the folks who post such wonderful ride pix! I am an old Clydesdale - bike north of Boston and in the Northfield/Warwick area of Mass.

    Hello everyone.
50 year old retiree from first profession, now working as a lbs mechanic and wheelbuilder. Have been riding road since the eighties, MTB since the nineties, but don't MTB very much anymore. Frequent forum participant in various forums, and am coming from RBR where the political slant to everything became tiresome. Happy to be here, and hope I can learn. share, and contribute. Thanks for having me.

Another RBR emigre here. Yeah, a number of us grew tired of the political posts over there. Please don't let that happen here! Basically, over there you could not work off opinions or beliefs; everything needed to be supported by a valid news article or some university of numbnuts study.

I turn 59 next month. Solely riding road the past 23 years, after a long hiatus for career, house, kids, marriage, etc. My cycling passion emphasizes all things bicycle, whether riding or wrenching. Only recently discovered Velocipede and like what's posted here. Some humorous people frequent the joint.

Hi everyone! I'm happy to join this fantastic group in our little corner of the interwebs. I'm a roadie, and just took delivery of a Spectrum. I found the site in my search for an eff-builder, and have been hooked since. I currently own the spectrum (thanks Tom!) a Japanese Bridgestone steel frame with integrated lugs (a very interesting bike because the steel is formed like aluminium) and the last of the Festina s-works team bikes (2001) (and a set of EPO-days ergo bend bars).

This site is a testament to the wonderful people who build and ride bikes. I'm honored to be a part of it, and wish I could buy one of each builder's bikes who have been smoked out.

    Hey folks,

VS has been a solid source of information/inspiration for me over the past year or so. Currently riding a 'cross/gravel bike and a 29+ hard tail (both steel) from my local builder - True North Cycles in Belwood, Ontario.
I'm currently on a two-year work assignment about an hour outside of Cologne, Germany and looking forward to exploring Europe by bike.

    Cheers,
    Christian

Long time, first time... Pretty sure I found this place looking for more info on Zukas cycles.

Web forums were a crucial part of my development and love, and finding bike/cycling forums has certainly helped my interest in the sport. Living in New Zealand. Racing on the road at the elite level (finally got a placing on procyclingstats that wasn't a DNF this year) and working in a fairly large bike store. I work in online customer service, so I've got smooth hands and a lot of time to browse forums.

    Look forward to posting.

    Hi all-

I'm about 3 years into biking and enjoying it very much. This February has allowed a fair amount of road riding here in greater Detroit. I'm a lifelong soccer player who's knees finally said "enough." I'm currently working on my first century in July (WAM for all of you MI people) and my wife and I are getting a Seven tandem built right now. Thanks for sharing wisdom.

Howdy! I've been a casual reader but hope to contribute some insight to the different topics. See you on the board!

    Good day, All!

Steve Hampsten told me about VS and suggested I check it out. Looks really great.

I just took delivery on my new custom Hampsten Ti which is mostly a Gran Paradiso with a bit of a SB cross as I am now living in Germany for the next 3 years with the Army and I am riding RVV cyclosportif in 3 weeks and doing a number of other cyclo's over the next few years.

Started road racing in the late '80's in New England. I was never that good (Cat 3) but had blast and have been pretty much riding ever since.

    Thanks for having me.
