i kinda skipped this bit, not purposely tho.
im in Perth western Australia, but from the netherlands be it a while ago. i was a quite member of the frame builders mailing list while it was around, worked with on bikes for the biggest part of my life, went back to school to become a diesel mechanic, i figured if i don't like it i can at least set up my dream/frame shop.i have been in hd trade now for about 8 years and a couple of weeks ago i finished my jig serviced my 1950's cents horizontal mill and last week my new esab tig caddy had arrived, the last foreseeable thing on my current to do list is heat sinks. with saying that i don't believe ill be ever finished, i don't think i have any commercial goals with this i just freaking love bicycles (-: currently going back to school to get my dual trade as a automotive sparky so when i get back to the bike shops i at least have have an understanding of them new fandangled derailers !
i don't think there is another industry where professionals share there tips and tricks with amateur builders, its absolutly wicked !
Thanks everyone,
mick van aar

Hello,

New guy here. Eric Estlund reminded me this site exists.
here are my bicycles:
90s? Gilles Berthoud Randoneusse. imported form France, size 54.5, Sent the Serial# to Berthoud and they said they had no info to share??? Its my main ride, the only one i ever want to hop on.

1999 Serotta Rapid Tour: My first real bicycle. 56cm square. a touch big for my liking. easy riding bicycle. May be for sale in the future, undecided on that front.

1970 Mercian Superlight: my latest find, loved the frame so much. 56cm Its currently in pieces waiting for a full 1970s Nuovo Record restore. brakes may be non Campy?

I'm 35, 5'9.5 and 150lbs. I had knee surgeries, 4 of them, and can't run or play soccer anymore. But i can still cycle. I like riding from 30-75 miles for now. I would like to start Randonneuring next spring when my fitness and endurance is up a bit, and PBP 2019 is a goal!!! Currently riding a 40 mile loop and trying to consistently beat 2 hours. I'm getting there, have beat 2 hours a few times, last ride was 2 hours and a minute, haha. I like hills, they are all over here in Southern Oregon.

hello everyone, I like this place.

I'm hoping the ride comes together and still feels that way too. Of the 3 Berty is my gal, never met a bike I'd trade her for. But the Mercian sure is pretty, i mean those lugs...

Hey all, Name is Brian and I found you all as our website received a lot of traffic so I decided to come take a look.

I am the Product Owner for the OTTO Tuning System and really enjoy what I do. Not here to sell but here for a good discussion.

Welcome to Vsalon, Tom! I'd say a bright red bike is a great way to introduce yourself.

Hi everyone. This forum was mentioned on WW in regards to a post that was discussing the merits of the new tubular tape. I just stumbled into a pair of Enve 1.65, my first tubulars, and am interested in learning about all things tubular. I can't seem to find that thread. Any help?

Cheers!

Welcome beatle! Try the "VGoogleista Search" box in the upper left. That will get you the best results for finding stuff here. There's also the Pro Bicycle Tech forum off the main page that should have some good threads for you.

Hello all!

I recently left my position at Paragon Machine Works to pursue a life that aligns more with my own goals and have finally gotten settled back in Alaska! I'll primarily just be lurking on here, but I look forward to chiming in where/when I can.

Hope everyone is having a good fall. The mountains here have had termination dust for a couple of weeks, but we finally got our first snow in Anchorage yesterday! Bring it on winter.
