Or maybe, it's more like this...
Welcome back Dave, I will have to start spending more time on here....are you going to NHABS this Feb?
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. PETE
Chomp returns to the fray - That just makes my day!
Now I truly have something to be thankful for tomorrow.
GO!
"Old pal?" You betcha I'm old. 61 this November. Celebrated by taking my birthday present for a ride, 370 pound, 200hp Ducati sportbike. Had some kid trailing me through some twisties while I scuffed in my knee pucks on the pavement. We get to the local motorcycle watering hole for coffee and chatter and he sees the grey beard and bald head once the helmet comes off. "Pardon me, sir, how old are you?" "61. Today is my birthday." "Planning on reaching 62? You're out of your mind."
Ah, it's still great to scare the young 'uns. Peter Pan's got nothing on me -- nor e-Richie either unless he's changed. Not likely.
Hi all. Happy Turkey Day. Gooble Gooble. Dave N. aka Chomp the Wonder Beaver

Welcome back Dave! We need to see pictures of your bikes (Ducati....).

While you are out there snapping pics of the desmo, get a pic of your chicken strips.![]()
No, I traded a Monster S4RS, a 1098R and a Hypermotard. Dealer had a Desmosedici Team Edition that a buyer couldn't come up with the final payment for, so we worked out a deal for those three bikes plus a payment towards a KTM RC8 he had that was then paid for by a swap for a couple vintage Suzuki's from my collection. (I have been riding and collecting motorcyles since I was 14.) And the Desmosedici is everything you have heard about it and more. Surprisingly streetible, if you are a complete nutcase and with the market tanking, available new for far less than list.
The 1098R was neat, but the RC8 with an Akropovic system (20 pounds less weight, and tunable to 175hp) is a great ride for less $$$$, so no net downside there either. Dave

Too late, long gone. My wife noticed right away, and the lecture was long and nasty. ("Okay, it was bad enough on that stupid 900SS when the kids were still in diapers, but at your age, I worry that you WON'T kill yourself and I'll have to change YOUR diapers!!!!!!") Ouch.
By the way, if you go to Jay Leno's garage, his comments and the sound of the Desmo with the race exhaust (they all get set up that way) is worth the view. If they could only bottle that noise, they'd make a fortune. Dave

I saw a Desmosedici in the back of a parked pickup
in Park City UT last summer. SWEET bike.
This one was clean as a whistle, but clearly had either
some track time, or had ran from the cops, given the angle
of tirewear on that baby. Only in my dreams...
