Ben King won Stage 4. Was a gripping finish. Spent the day as virtual leader but the final climb ate up his advantage. Still managed to save energy to vie for first at the end. Quality win. Has to be his best one, i.e. most prestigious?
Richie Porte lost another 20 minutes. At this rate he is going to need to charter a jet to catch up the final week...

Serious gastroenteritis evidently. Team introduction day he was shivering in bed.

BTW the skinny motor that hauled Kwiatkowski up the hill and back into the red jersey was Sepp Kuss LottoNL-Jumbo & recent winner of the Tour of Utah. He was working for Steven Kruijswijk of course, but Kwiatkowski was in the group Kuss pulled up the hill.
Nice win for King. He played his cards well.
The Vuelta always seems to entertain. I am looking forward to the rest of the race.
So much fun in 4 stages (3) already. No hiding in the Vuelta!
Best. Grand Tour. of the Year. It's amazing how awesome a grand tour can be when the first week isn't wasted on sprinter stages and circus events that have no real impact on the race other than to remove contenders via wrecks/injury.

Im wondering if he lost fitness, starved himself to try to get the w/kg up. I suspect the dopers train heavier, then cut last minute with your favorite steroid. :) who knows how he built back up (not accusing him of doping) but I'm sure its very complicated when you come into the most important race in super shape, and then are taken out by an injury...
They re-up the ante every year. It. Never. Ceases. To. Amaze. Me.

Another great day for Ben King! Long solo run to the end.
He just re-upped with Dimension Data too. 2nd GT win + new contract makes for a nice rest day!
If Yates can not hang on this day, he will not win the Vuelta (if you've seen that stage maps).
