Got out with my Dad to shake down his new Moots that I built for him. Saddle will be changed, but I already had that one on hand so he went with it for now. We ended up doing 59 miles and averaged 19.5, so safe to say he likes it!

Couple of days up in glorious Warren/Waitsfield VT with honey bunny on the Hampsten and Rock Lobster. Beers in Brattleboro on the way home at Whetstone too.

Today’s reward for yesterday’s transatlantic flight with 3 kids under the age of 4.
It was chilly enough to wear a jacket for the first time this season to boot.

Did the Gran Fondo New Jersey on Sunday, and followed that up with a lovely spin through farm country around Morristown, NJ on Monday. Geez, what a gorgeous swath of rural paradise only an hour from NYC!

Sadly, no pics of said gorgeousness, just our mugs:

Today's my birthday and as I do most mornings, I headed out for a solo ride at 7am. Actually my wife rides with me sometimes but she couldnt this morning, so it was just me. Super pretty out this morning in this new city we just moved to 2 weeks ago. :)

explored a new rode that has been calling to me today. i took the wrong bike. rode the Goodrich with normal road gears and 27mm pave tubulars. the rode started out paved!

but that ended quickly and the rode turned to gravel. this road was 7.7 miles and offered up exactly 3k ft climbing in tat 7.7 miles. compy said the pitch was 5-15 percent the entire time, no flat sections, just sitting in the saddle and climbing up. at one point flies swarmed my face and i slid out while trying to wave them away in my tired and idiotic state. smashed my phone too damn it.
    But check out the views!

Day 2 of Nathan's Marin Dirt tour. Today was up Shafter Grade to Bo-Ridge to the Gestalt Haus. Followed by so Bonus climbs... Sure enjoyed it even if Nathan ripped my legs off and fed them to the sharks.

Traveling to SFO this week (sans bike), so had to get in a ride on Monday night before heading to the airport at 4am Tuesday morning... Perfect late summer evening.

On vacation in central Oregon...the pass I wanted to climb is closed due to fires, so did this ride instead which was beautiful! Put my 28 mms to the test on some gravel, wish I had brought something bigger to explore a bit deeper.

Houston has been amazing tour host/guide, some of the hardest and most beautiful riding I've done. Heading back home equally grateful and jealous.

After a week off the bike due travel it was multiple personality rides...

Monday in NYC along the Hudson where the artist who does the stones seems to have moved it all to the west 170's and out more into the river...

Came up North and put my country personality on for a Wednesday ride....

Different places on different bikes with different changes (one not) in elevations, but all good times.

Burning the candle at both ends to get our house ready for sale and finally finished the job this morning as the perimeters of Irma weather gave way to sunshine. Got out for 2.5 hours in the country in what was among the final few rides before my wife's scheduled c-section Monday. Too much change at once, too much work to make it all happen, and yet hard not to smile the whole ride. Can't wait to meet my progeny.

Early start and early quit today so that I could get a trail ride in this afternoon before the remnants of Irma make things wet around here. When I stopped for a drink, I spotted this gargoyle and for some strange reason, I felt that perhaps I had been the model for the sculptor in another life...
