Gifford Pinchot National Forest riding
NF66 Starts out as a nicely paved road running along a massive lava rock bed on its western flanks as it climbs towards Indian Heaven Volcanic Fields.
Eventually the smooth pavement turns to packed dirt road and some muddy potholes.
Some lakes along the way. This area has "Disappearing Lake" which appears some years for only a few short weeks as frozen water trapped in underground lava tubes melts in the spring and floods a large prairie creating a very clear pretty lake.
Some creeks run through the lava fields. The water eddies in bright blue pools along the way.
Signal Cycles dirt road bike. Changed the saddle and bar tape to Brooks Cambium. Digging it for the dirt road rides.
Goose Lake is our turnaround point. Recent days it's been getting lots of visits from fisherman.
Forlorn Lakes Rd (NF 6621) is sloppy but a sweet stretch. Some parts are so potholed, cars can't make it through.

3 for 3 this week, coming out of an inconsistent stretch.
Sleeping and eating better, imbibing less, riding more- feels good.
