    Default Velocipede Salon Member Ride & Ski Reports - 2/17 - 2/23

Anyone else out of shape? This 17k bicycle doesn’t get me up the hills any faster but it sure looks good!

I shouldn't diagnosis you over the internet- a 17k bike and you live near Greenwich which is known to have a highly infectious strains of affluenza. You need to ride an aluminum bike with shimano sora groupset before your condition becomes chronic.

As for me, I ride at night because I hear black makes me look thin. I'm so skinny you can't even see me in the trees. I look like a twig.

    Darren
Just do what I did. Ride nothing but MTB's for a few weeks, tack on dragging two four years olds around in a trailer.
Then, on Presidents Day, ride the drop bar bike for the first time in a month = FREE SPEED!

That's it? I guess you didn't go for any of the upgrades.

I rode mine in the rain for 3 hours on Sunday. It makes a helluva rain bike.

You should consider in no particular order:

    Leave the pump at home
    Convert to rim brakes
    Remove saddle bag
    Use smaller water bottles

Ha ha, all in good, light-hearted fun but you should consider in no particular order:

Keeping the pump because what if you get a flat
Keeping the discs because they stop better and allow wider tires
Keeping the saddle bag because how better to carry tubes and tire levers
Keeping the larger water bottles because you just can't stay hydrated on long rides without them

    Good morning again Falera.

    Laax. Maybe a former politician?

Zurich to Falera to Val Thorens to La Thuile to Geneva, 1100km.

    Val Thorens.

Yeah, just like the dried-out burgers and fries we eat at ski areas in the states. Not.
    IMG_0530.jpg

Espresso & a chocolate croissant was 3€50, so cheap I thought I misunderstood.
Didn't dare ask what "Shit On The Grass" might be.

La Thuile. Yes, that's Mont Blanc.

Even if the new Mosaic bicycle is 17-lbs, that is still a terrific ride. NICE!

First ride in a week after getting the flu (despite having gotten the vaccine!!)

A brisk 17* at the start...wolftooth pogies ftw...really nice design and great temperature regulation

Litchfield County. If it weren’t for the scenery, I would have Uber’ed back to the local bar.

When your bike looks like this...

You should probably live in a house like this

My favorite view so far is this one down the fork leg

Pretty waterlogged in UK too. It seems a storm blows in every weekend.

Wales and the Midlands seem pretty much underwater.
