Up early for a quick out and back on the IF. Favourite gravel road that hugs the coastline with views across Byron. Wallaby spotting. Good times.

OK, I'm beginning to become annoyed.

It is not enough that all the birds laugh at me. It is not enough that the dogs all come to the end of the driveway and shout "You're slow! You're slow!" No, now the deer are condescending.

I get passed by a pickup. As soon as the truck is through up the road a deer ambles, and I do mean ambles, across the road. As I get there, it is standing in the field. It looks back at me and goes "Oh, no! Oh, no! A big bad bicyclist! I better wave my little white tail and trot away like he could catch me but we both know he can't even if he wanted to and so I'll just do this to make him feel better. But not really".

    F-ing furry b---ard.

And the dork from 'Cutting Times Landscaping' that blew out around the garbage truck into the face of oncoming traffic (me) and gave me the finger for objecting to their behavior. It does take a special kind of stupid to do that in a company truck. Even the garbage men were going "What an a-hole!"

Other than that it was a great ride. I'm not complaining.

Visited friend on a Gaviota coastal ranch 20 miles north of SB, quite a few peacocks, collected a few dropped feathers.

Better enjoy fresh paved road this summer. Next year there will be no money to fix the holes.

But I am sure Lawson Finest will continue to brew beer to look forward to...

8 miles paddling on the Sudbury river this morning. Busy when I finished but when I started it was totally quiet. Saw an Osprey and two Great Blue Herrons.

I'll take the unpaved roads any day.

Lots of sweat, plenty of climbing ... 30 miles, 3,400' there's no easy ride around here.

Officially without a boss (unless you count my wife).

On the barrier beach...An hour and a half one way on the sand and then back mainly on Burma Road which is sand in most parts but beachside communities for some parts.

Came across this house with two of these around entrances...sorry for the size of the photo but gotta show the intricacy of the piece. How they have this in a place that gets over-washed in hurricanes is beyond me. How they found it is beyond me.

Hot ride. Good ride. A lot slower than when on the mainland and it’s not sand. But the same amount of effort methinks.

Doug, that's a great Vermont IPA. My wife and I lived in Burlington, VT way back. We live in Virginia now, but I tried this Sip of Sunshine along with the other Vermont IPAs: Heady Topper, and Focal Banger at a Philly Bike Club Fall cycling event in and around Gettysburg, PA a few years ago. The rider that brought them to the event lived in PA originally, but moved to Brattleboro, VT many years ago. A group of us bring craft brews to every event for everyone else in the group to sample. Thanks.

Early ride times this week and detours through the woods, as it has been sunny and unseasonably hot...beats cold and dreary any day.

When riding in Nyack is like a Hopper Painting....

Funcrusher, back in the day when Lawson Finest was small and local, drinking it in Mad River Valley was a near religious experience for many a cyclist.
It's a bit like drinking SingleTrack at the bottom of Sugarbush after skiing and watching March Madness in the bar.
Oh... the good ole days pre-Coronavirus. Notice the surgical mask string behind the left ear on the solitary individual staring over the horizon.... Hopper be proud.

Another humid day, finish off with a lap around the pond and a swim with the dogs.
