After a couple weeks of running and mountain biking, I'm back on the road bike.

It was hot again, so the young ones played in the water.

Sometimes its is hard to tell the sky from the water.

    And sometimes it isn't.

Sometimes the sky is the water! Managed to ride around a huge dark thunderstorm. For a while I was following it as it moved east, and fine misty rain was blowing off the back end of the storm clouds making this crazy upside down rainbow way up in the air. I tried photographing it, but only got a tiny sense of it in this photo. Meanwhile I managed 2300' in 25 miles. Love riding here.

Yes sir (this is not a scientific id). This one had a green hue to it.

This happened today. The maps and hiking trail portion of a project started four years ago. They joined the mtb signposts that went in earlier this year. Okay, so there isn't a bike in the mix...I was getting around via a Bobcat/gator and working on trails for bikes and feet.

A trio of trailhead kiosks and the winter sports posts/signs left to go. All I wanted was to sign the mtb trails, it became an entire mapping and signage project for the county park. The next two park/maps have gone much faster as they were MTB only, simple networks and smaller trails. Honestly never thought this one was ever going to happen let alone be finished. Obtaining funding, approvals, agreeing on how to navigate, etc. Long road. Today was great day.

    Nice job Speedy!!!

I know this has been a long project for you. Certainly one of those projects that most of us simple reap the benefits of without giving a lot of thought to those that make it happen. You make it happen!

Castellane to Forcalquier via the Gorges du Verdon. 110 km, 4600 feet. Dang the riding (and eating and drinking) is great in Provence.

After knee surgery, holidays and some work at home, back on my bike for a regular basis, I hope.

The hot weather has brought interesting morning color shows. For those that are wondering, none of these (nor the other photos posted earlier) are manipulated in any way. No filters, photoshop fun, etc. This is what it has been looking like this week and captured with an iPhone.

We arrived at Castaways Monday afternoon, was dinner by the time we our camper set up and things mostly settled.

Spent Tuesday hanging around, swimming in the Sinepuxent Bay with the dogs. Haven't been drinking much for the last couple of months (yay lost almost 20 pounds) but hit the Tiki Bar for TWO fast Grapefruit Crushes...I swear that first cup had a hole in it.

Anyway, made it out Wednesday morning for 50+ miles, getting ready to head out soon as I type this...

There's a footpath along the St Lawrence. Rode it and more for a couple of hours. Leisurely mixed with a boatload of hard interval stuff.

Traffic is non-existent west of Berlin...

Mostly, corn and soy fields and chicken farms around here.

    that and the ocean.

Nature tried out the jets on the NW wind machine today just to see if they were lubed up and ready to go for autumn and (gasp) winter. Made for nice skies, a cool breeze and slightly lower temps. Every thing I rode was either rolling or uphill. Legs now elevated and I'm day-dreaming about burritos.

West Copake Reformed Church. Not sure what they did that required reforming their ways.

Can't see bupkis here, but that's a nice boathouse. All dimensions based its square foundation.
