Another perfect day of dog walking then riding. Back to the grind tomorrow.

Great pic! Saw this on flickR. Happy with the 45/1.8? Appears quite sharp. You prefer auto focus or manual?

NBD! Took this Seven out for a test drive today. real quick one due to poor weather and lack of time, but i gave it the rundown, no hands, sprint, climb, etc etc. Its zippy, light, mobile, well balanced, stiff at the pedals but forgiving at the saddle, and plenty of room for 28s! if shes as good in the long haul as she was in the trial, ill upgrade some things. For now theres nothing super light, just your standard Chorus build. but its the lightest bike ive owned, for whatever thats worth...

Thanks! I am happy with the 45mm/1.8, it's actually my second. I bought a 75mm/1.8 and sold the 45. While the 75 made awesome shots only one in 20 was in focus (Such a shallow depth of field). So I sold it and got another 45. I get a really nice look and actually get the pics in focus. I use AF and usually do sport mode when taking pics of the pups since they never stand still!

    Cheers,

I have two, the EM1 (v1) and the Pen F. I got the Pen F on a misguided notion that I need to take more non-bike and dog pics so I would take it out socially. I sort of do that. I might get the new EM1 v2 this year.

    Cheers,

And then I look at the price and i remember I still need to get a super wide lens for it if I want to do landscapes. Then I look at the price of the Canon 5d mkvi and 5dsr bodies. I still have a lot of nice Canon glass sitting quite unused (but much loved)... Then I'm back into tripods and rather heavy kits... Oh this is getting ugly...

Didnt realize it bit I guess my 30 mile hilly ride today was the first of the year for me, too. With temps in the single digits and teens until recently I havent been able to ride for 9-10 days. I work out indoors too, but it sure felt good to get outside today and spin the cranks.

Back on the bike for the first time in about 18 months (!)

Pedaling squares but at least I'm moving again. Almost forgot how fun this is. Really looking forward to exploring more of the East Bay.

Frigid weather finally behind us, a balmy 32 degrees for Tuesday's commute home.

RRS has been busy on the ultra light tripod front. Slightly less ugly but very dangerous...

Got in another fast 30 miler today. Was a bit chilly, but downright tropical compared to the teens and single digits we recently froze through. :)

Hoping to get my "commute home" gig going again...drive in with wife and bike in car, wife drives home and I ride.

A little more difficult than in the past due to changed logistics, but so much more of a purposeful afternoon ride, with the added benefit of only one car doing the 40 mile round trip drive.
