Default Velocipede Salon Member Ride Report 20-26 January

I took a chance on romance and for my efforts I earned a nice, wet ride this morning...a nice brunch later with my wife helped to lift my sprits as well. Anybody else break away from the basement this week?

Went out a day early for a conference in Palm Springs, and a few of us from work snuck in a day and a half at Joshua Tree, which has been on my list for ages. Well worth it. Ryan Mountain and 49 Palms Oasis were our two longer hikes, plus a handful of stops at other attractions mixed in (Skull Rock, Barker Dam, hall of Horrors.)

Then came home to new bike day and got in an hour shakedown ride (albeit on the bike path, given the rain.)
I can already tell this bike will be a better fit for me than my Honzo.

    SK8 or die, dood!

Another damp day and another pink waterbottle, albeit today is much colder with some light snow in the higher elevations, just to remind me that it’s January. I went straight home to some hot chicken soup and a right now, the fireplace is in high gear.

God DAMN it. 9:30 this morning I'm going over to the alternate grocery to try and find fresh figs and the Sunday group is heading out from the parking lot. Understand, the 36 degree rain is switching to snow. I went down cellar for 90 minutes after the domestic chores were done. What have I become?

    RW,
    Where is that mosaic mural?
The cyclist has some mad skill.
Steering and saddle height are amazing.
She just needs a glass of wine to cap it off.

B...it's located in the Millvale section of Pittsburgh, about 1/2 mile from the entrance to the Three Rivers Heritage Trail on the Allegheny River. There's a great restaurant, French bakery and coffee shop a few doors down. Note the title of the piece...

Back on the bike after a long hiatus due to a back injury and adult obligations. First bike commute in a long time, felt great, but took the short 19.5 mile route. If anyone can find my legs, please send me a PM.

    Yes. It’s a terrible thing.
It’s coming down hard right now, though.
