I did 20 road miles this morning at 6am after the gym. While I was riding I managed to whack my left hand pretty good trying to pass through a narrow 'road closed for construction' sign and fence. Thought I had enough room, but it turned out I didnt.

I also worked on my (anachronistic) bike at our store's bike repair area this morning, swapped out my steel threaded Ritchey headset for an alloy FSA version I picked up a while ago, using the store's cup install tool, which I dont have at home. The bike is now at the high end of 17lbs. :)

Hoping to ride this evening as well.

A quick 10 miles after work. Starting to pick up the intensity. Both lungs still accounted for. All is good. No pics...

It's only too hot if you ride the wrong roads.

Snuck in a quick midday ride while the kids were napping. Explored some of the side roads in Cummaquid and Yarmouthport on Cape Cod with my Ebisu. Thought I'd make a few contributions to the Vsalon barn pic photo library.

Rode from the Swan Deli in Purdys, NY through North Salem and into Ridgefield, CT, where I lived quite a few years ago. Nice views, killer climb up Keeler Lane, pretty dirt roads, and even some single track in Hemlock Hills, which I would run as a cut through to Lake Windwing with my dog almost thirty years ago...

The area around North Salem and Ridgefield is tough to beat. You hit some good roads there!

I did 25 miles this morning, partly to test out my new Chinese carbon stem I put on yesterday. It's slightly shorter (110mm) than the 115mm aluminum one it replaced. I went shorter because the carbon bars I recently put on the bike are 42cm, replacing aluminum 40cm bars, and I noticed widening out my arms pulled me a bit more forward. Stem feels great though, it's very light and stiff. I also swapped out it's steel bolts for some Ti versions I had.

So yes, my fugly new stem is a success!
