    Default Tour Spoiler-Stage 9

This Tour continues to amaze me. The Schleck/Bert two man TT to chase down the break was stellar. This is the most fun I've had watcing Le Tour in years.

Some great rides today....... and some not so great.

The Selection continues to refine itself.

    Chapeau Sandy Casar!
He towed Cunego, LL Sanchez and Charteau for most of the final 10km and still took the stage victory in a "sprint"

I thought Navarro was pretty amazing, two days in a row making all the favorites suffer.
Still disappointed about Lance, especially seeing how comfortable he looked today....although I realize many here are rejoicing the fact that he is out of GC contention (hello eRitchie?)!

Beautiful stage today. Cadel crying into his teammates arm ... heartbreaking.

Yes, especially if he indeed was riding with a fractured elbow. Luck has dealt many riders in this race a blow. Rogers, Wiggo, Sastre just did not have it and lost time to Levi/Menchov/Gesink and even the LA/Basso group.

David Millar finished last today, 42 minutes down, alone.
7 minutes behind the 2nd to last guy.
Whether you like him or not, can you imagine the suffering? Not sure I can.

Bert and Andy make it look so easy.

in regards to Andy and 'Berto. I didn't see any thing magnificent or awe inspiring. I saw 2 little girly boys playing with their bikes waiting for the other's nuts to drop. Sammy Sanchez on the other hand kept banging his head against the wall to stay connected and or close the gap. THAT was the ride.

props to the break away for not playing too much grab ass to stay away and big ups to the LeFou Frog to get another win for the home soil!

Didn't look like the Shack boys turned themselves inside out to help Levi get up the HC hill. Me thinks he will be riding clost to the front with no help a lot.

I thought he was going to collapse after crossing the line.

You are correct. I should give credit where credit is due. Sammy's ride was inspired.

Indeed, he was great. The suffering on his face during the last 10km was both gruesome and awesome. BTW, AS should get some descending lessons from him before the Pyrenees ...

Magnificence and awe are very often two completely different things from excellence and greatness. The best make it look easy; I think that needs to be appreciated on its own merit.

Andy didn't want his mom to worry:
"Schleck said: “I was afraid of that descent, and I told Alberto, ‘if you want to take risks, OK, but I won’t.’ It’s better to lose 10 seconds than to leave the race in an ambulance. Besides, I know my mother is watching the race, and during the descents she paces back and forth into the kitchen. So I told (Saxo Bank team manager Bjarne Riis) to call my mother and tell her I wouldn’t take any risks.” (From Velonews article.)
