Nice work by Kittel. Cav's own fault today? That was a lot of leaning in.

Has Cavendish done his whiny tear filled interview yet where he blames Gerrans and everyone else for his not being allowed to win??

he wont be worth much if he can race at all.

Depending on what grade it is -- it may not be that bad. I had a grade 2 the first day of training camp and finished another 4 days in the mountains with only a couple ibuprofen per day. It turned into a grade 3 later in the season. Grade 3 was very painful and I took a couple weeks off.

Not sure if he is the only one to blame, but definitely a cause. Too bad for him. It was nice to see Cancellera attack at 1k; hopefully we see more of that to challenge these sprinters.

Nice to see someone, "Manning up."

Not used to seeing this very much, especially after watching so much World Cup. No one ever takes the blame.

Man, and a really hard stage on Sunday. I don't see Cav mixing it up too much for the first 14 days or so. Got to use those shoulders a bunch in sprinting. We will see how much pain he can deal with Sunday for sure. They said something like 12 k climbing on stage 2. I was glad he stated it was his fault. That is how I saw it too. There wasn't a hole for him to get out of the box and he went for one that wasn't there.

Cavandish's synapses get overloaded on stages like this where God Country and Queen are all watching. He either wins or explodes.

Sagan said he went too soon. It seemed like with Kittel right now there is too soon and too late. Same result.

It was a punk move atmo. Apology or not, it's cached forever that he races this way. Maybe his light will finally go on now.

Not sure if this is accurate. Cyclingnews shows him 3+ minutes down, but both VeloNews and the NBC Sports app show him finishing with the pack (no time loss). If he truly lost a significant amount of time, I suspect there would be several stories in the press AND Vaughters would be quoted about it everywhere.

IMHO, it is his weak point, as Cavendish has explosive power and is smart enough to find it's way. And he's not a sprinter that would quit before the mountains, one more reason to think ahead: lose the first but hint for the next 3-4-5 or what comes

The key word in Cav's quote is "flick." We see lots of sprinters wobble and bump and nudge for a moment, but we don't see lots of sprinters snuggling into their Mom's shoulder to watch a Lifetime movie while drinking hot cocoa.
