That sucks. I used to have a ball-burnished Racer-X 100. They were a great company.

that sucks. I had a racer-x 80 for years, it was the best squishy I ever had. They had such a nice suite of mountain bikes for a while -- racer-x, switchblade, quasi-moto.

Keep 'em in your stable. They will be recognized as a classic one day. I don't ever plan to get rid of my '02 racer x, even though I haven't gone MTB'ing in over 2 years and I've ridden it all of about a dozen times in the last 5.

Absolutely love my Titus MotoLite II mountainbike.
They should have never entertained roadbikes and concentrated all efforts on mountainbikes.
Guess this means that the Maxm components subsidiary company is also bust.

Definitely a bummer. I think, however, the people who made Titus what it was will move on to do good stuff elsewhere. Good luck to all of them, and thanks for the great bikes.

In the early days I always likened them to SantaCruz. Interesting that SantaCruz made it and Titus didn't.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Form Cycles is also made up of ex-Titus guys as well, and they're doing some cool stuff. I figured I'd give the current employees the benefit of the doubt, I'm sure they've still got some talent.

......and were replaced by an ABG upper level manager after ruining many ABG brands into the ground..........the 1st thing he did was fire alomost everyone there, with the rest jumping ship asap {Form} - to my knowledge the fired were replaced with displaced ABG employees. That's didn't leave allot of AZ empathy for the brand, that and the demise of the in-house Titanium. We {AZ guys & gals} were bummed to see the Ti go. Fast forward past the non-competion clause, and you have Pivot. I have to say, this is the 1st company I've seen go from Chris C. showing me the 1st "prototype" frames {they were 6" long!} to closed doors. I see allot of Pivot bikes out here now, hard to beat the DW link - but Form cycles is three guys, and I kinds get the vibe they all have day jobs. Hard to support three families on one hardtail company, IMO. Titus - One more for the history books - Garro.

Rob Roskop is a visionary on the level of Ignaz Schwinn. When Stevil Kinevil was still working there (Swobo is owned by Santa Cruz) I sent him a constant barrage of emails prompting him to get me a DNA sample so that I confirm that Mr. Roskop is in fact a human and/or to create a clone army of Roskops to replace me.

Educate me please. I know Rob Roskopp as one of the legendary skateboarders from the 80's. Definitely one of the pioneers of vert skateboarding. I owned 3 of his boards. But I know very little about him in the cycling world.

Rob is the founder and CEO and sole owner of Santa Cruz bikes. He's made the right decisions for 20 years now, lots of right decisions. He's stuck his fingers into the skate game again (he owns a good bit of the skate and snow company now, and Independent Trucks) and even co-owns a luxury resort in South Africa. His Mtb racing program is funded out of pocket and is among the most professionally run and successful, with two of the highest profile riders, including the industries #1 marketing machine, Steve Peat. He owns and successfully leverages the VPP suspension patent, getting in on the ground floor of the acronym wars.
He had the savvy to by Swobo back in 2001 and when the brand was re-introduced he stole Skye Yeager from Bianchi as the PM for Swobo bikes. Skye is the Pista.
The list goes on and on and on.
