The weirdness factor should reach an all-time high on Feb 25th. I'll do my best to contribute.
as an 11 year resident of Austin, I have found myself bemoaning the loss of places such as West Lynn Cafe and Cafe Mundi, and the condo boom downtown, but thats the way things go, there are still plenty of fun places here. Chicken shit bingo at Ginny's on sundays is pretty fun, especially if Dale Watson is playing. And Garaj M'Hal is a good food trailer.
I'm with you on the old businesses, but downtown density is a good thing in my book to limit suburban sprawl. I like that it makes Austin more of a city.
Ken Greene here and Austin has been very Washington-esque the past few days. I got pretty sloppy this afternoon doing hill repeats in the rain with temps in the mid-40s. I feel good about myself though.
Sorry Ken,
I assumed you were Kris Hicks-Green whom just moved to Austin recently. Our temps have hit the low 50's the last couple days, with lots of drizzle.\\

I will keep an eye out for the other Kg. Also, did you say it's raining in Olympia -- what are the odds?
