Default Temple... we don't seem to talk about them here

    ...why is that?

Bespoke design, fabrication and decoration. The owner seems to be a bike nut rather than some post industrial robber baron. All good things, I would have thought.

Granted the Flemish lion and graffiti motif on Het Beest is a bit derivative but it does look good. This thing looks pretty damn slick if you ask me.

Doesn't the brains behind that operation post a lot over in the WW forum?

The "dot" frame at the Edge booth at interbike was pretty hot.

Yeah, that's a fair point... are there so few of them on the road that they don't get noticed.

What is it that temple does that much different than the rest ? I have followed them for a few years and think highly of Mr. Johnson and Co. BTW.

maybe it's the robb report piece but his marketing seems to take a different tack than most: as if these aren't mere bicycles but some elegant bijou of a bespoke lifestyle

whatever, say i, but i wonder who he's marketing to? it must work...

I'm not sure his marketing approach does work. Most outside of the bike industry never heard of temple.

I think the wood veneer is pretty cool. I wouldn't put it on my bike, but it makes for cool pictures.

A+. i don't care that they farm stuff out, AND jason does beauty work {and is a personal friend - nice guy!} BUT....on his web page he goes to great lengths to make it appear as if he makes the bikes in house, going as far as to say stuff like "we use X tooling" and "we weld #^@%" this does not jive with me. for an example of how to do this buisness model with class, look at hamsten's webpage. steve.

For some reason I thought of Temple today. Rather than start a new thread right away, I used the handy "search" feature and found this thread.

Their URL leads to a "Kindred Fabrication" placeholder page with a broken email link as the only thing to do. Are they still in business?

Coincidentally, there are two Temple frames on eBay right now. The link is correct. Not sure what the deal is with golf clubs reference.

    Ohabei Shalom here.

I occasionally ride with a guy who has one. It's a nice looking bike. Reminds me of my Love #3, only much more subtle. It's the only one I've ever seen in the flesh.
    GO!
