Default Subtle Frame, Lairy Forks - Me Likey

I've seen a few bikes recently, or been reminded of past ones, where the frame is nice and subtle (or raw stainless steel or Ti) but is offset by a nicely lairy fork - this Stinner X Death Spray Custom being the most recent:

Seems to be a bit of a 'thing', brought about mostly by Death Spray Custom's 'Fork You' range, but I like this look. A lot.

Here's a couple more, from here and elsewhere:

(damn that camo fork is good - you can barely see it!)

    What say you?

I agree. I dig it. Only problem is I think I'd get tired of it on my own bike.

I dig it as well. I wonder if it could be done as a sticker so it could be pulled off when you tire of it. I'm now thinking of going this route on my next bike.

I love all of these. Weird, I was thinking of starting a steel fork thread this morning.
    I love the Holstein fork.

Houston's camo fork is killer. I'm a fan, though I'm not sure I'd do it to one of mine.

once had one of the old Chicago Schwinn Suburbans come into the shop covered in leopard print duct tape. owner insisted that it not be messed with or damaged.

Yeah, I really like the idea of a muted gray/blue bike with a bright green painted patterned fork.

I like the cow scheme and joosttx camo fork on the darkish ti frames.

Not sure about the bright colours, would rather see it on a commuter/messenger fixie or a 120mm fork for the MTB

Hydrographics have been a thing for awhile now. Bike parts are great candidates.

Gonna skip this trend fo sho.
The ones with bright colors look like the owners had to replace their frames but were
    stuck using the old fork.

New frame + Dave Scott Ironman Centurion fork

and, in a few years, when this runs its course, put a matt black fork with the DS frame

In honesty, I would be surprised if < 80% of the posters here would disapprove.
But I could be completely wrong about that too.,

I'm with you on this. Not my cup of tea, but it's your bike...

Field and Saffron are both doing some killer stuff. Somebody get them on the forum!

Also, am I the only one that clicked this thread to find out WTF 'lairy' meant?

I think I like it but if I were to do this I would probably have a color matched version of the fork as well because I'm afraid I would get tired of it.

I have a bright green fork for my Cx bike where the frame is purple. I broke the green frame and kept the fork. Don't think id do it on purpose but that's ok

I don't understand things like the all city, where the fork+paint is worth 2-3x the cost of the frame, but w/e
