    Default Stretching / Aging Tubulars

Not looking to start a discussion about the validity of aging tubulars, have read thru a bunch of those. My question is for those that have bought into the idea of aging. Do you stretch the tires before you put them away to age, or after they have sat for several months and essentially just before you use them? thank you in advance!

I always store mine on stretching rims. My cross tubs get squirreled away in our dark basement with play-by-play tapes of Nys'/Groenendaal's/Vervecken's exploits playing 24/7...

I don't pre-stretch them; any tubular worth aging normally doesn't need to be stretched I find. I hang them in my wine cellar. I pull two bottles of Brunello out a few inches from the rack and use that as a hook. I'm currently looking for additional ways to make this process even more douchey.

Brunello is ok for Veloflex, but FMB absolutely, without question must be aged on bottles of cider, Chouchen or Lambig. But red wine, non!

I have tried Veloflex with Bordeaux and it works as well, just saying.

I let them age on a hook or in a wheel bag. I put them on stretching rim just a few hours or a few days before actually mounting them.

I prefer to age my tubs in my beer cellar, they get a little tougher that way.
