Default Slo-mo images of a different sort of frame flex

Check these high def videos out. 140mph airborne, and landing with a few serious twists & flexing on the moto's frame. I can't even imagine what that dynamic is like.

There are several other clips on there. Def. check 'em out if you have a chance.

That is probably the most insane race on the planet today. There's no way it would be approved as-is if it were proposed today and I'm almost surprised it is still being run. Thankfully it is.

    Long live Joey Dunlop!

Mind boggling. Anytime I'm proud of how brave I am I keep myself humble thinking of that race.

That's on the same plane as the "pitching deck"

Never have despite following road racing avidly for 20 years. We get really good coverage here of all the races on TV. Standing by the side of a road and seeing a 200mph blur is great but you miss most of the action.

Setting up the suspension for that race must be crazy. As far as frame flex, the aluminum perimeter frames those bikes use were approaching the point of being too rigid. They actually started designing in some flex to make the bikes handle better without the use of $15,000 Ohlins suspensions.

So as one builder on here says, the right amount of flex is good.

True, but having been there and on the Mulsanne straight at Le Mans, I can tell you its well worth experiencing even if just once in your life time.

Absolutely! I love the PBS/youtube "Pitching Deck" Series. My last ship was a "small boy" (frigate), so when the carrier was "pitching" it was all we could do to just hang on!

Having attended all three Indy Moto GP races the difference between seeing it in person and on tv is amazing. The amount of speed they were throwing at turns 1-4 and turn 10 left me slack-jawed. Even from up in the stands they looked like they were poking along but get down next to the track in the braking zone and it is a horse of a different color.

I consider myself a decent track rider on the Duc but watching the pros is humbling as Hell. Apples and chainsaws.

I've seen 1000s of races on short circuits but never one of the real road race events. Maybe next year I'll do IOM or an Irish one.
