Default Sidi Wire Ratchets are Slipping

I just finished a ride and one of the guys had an interesting problem. He just bought a pair of Sidi Wire shoes and the ratchets are slipping. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? He has done about 10 rides so far on them. He hasn't ridden in the rain or grime that would cause the dials to get contaminated. I have ridden the same shoes for three years and I've never had a problem or heard of anyone else having a problem with the ratchets. I thought I would toss it out there to the VSalon gestalt. Suggestions?

No problems here, mine work fine...the older ratchets/straps on the Ergo 5's needed replacing every now and then though.

Is this really an issue with these shoes? I canít see the point in a cycling shoe that canít be worn in the rain.

I'm sure you can replace what's needed and under warranty

What Andrea said. SIDI has good warranties. As long as this guy isnít trying to shove his feet into too small shoes for the width of his feet and the ratchets arenít able to draw the uppers together over his foot, SIDI should repair/replace.

No, this is not an issue with these shoes. Sidi makes quality products and supports them very well.

Thanks everyone. I wrote above that the shoes hadn't been ridden in rain and grime just to eliminate that possibility as a cause. The rider will simply contact Sidi and swap the ratchets under warranty.
