Agreed. Both of the starter races were bumped up in UCI status. I think that might make some more hungry to podium.

Aero wheels on windy Northern European days likely cause more carnage than disc brakes.

Looked like someone came to a standing stop on one of the climbs and that caused a tumble that broke apart the peloton and allowed several heavy hitters to escape.

edit: Actually that group is second on the road. Boonen may be in the third or fourth group. Classic Classics fragmentations!
