I don't see what is so local about the Bahati Foundation team? Run and funded by Colorado; riders are not "lo-cal." Unless by local you mean every local they visit.

I love the idea (We have been trying to get a program together for high school kids in Boston for a few years.) I hope they reach their goal of impacting the lives of "20 kids," and the planned scholarship becomes reality, because every kid educated is a win.

Yes, Sky might smack of Murdoch, but this is small potatoes compared to Serie A football(Berlusconi, anyone?) and the tactics in real big league sports. I suppose one could worry that the involvement of folks like Sky would make cycling more akin to European football than even LA could accomplish, and I just saw this on cyclignews to that effect:

However, I think that is a bit overblown, and I welcome Sky over Rock anyday.

As for Bahati not being local, I simply meant that it's high-profile but at the opposite end of the slick Sky campaign as far as I am concerned and something that Ball would be better off doing than trying to be the next big thing but not even being able to make into the Pro Conti ranks. What a fuck up ...

As an existing Sky TV subscriber I'm hoping that soe more cycling gets added to my viewing package. Eurosport cover most of the good events some I'm not sure what there is left to buy for Sky.

Let's get real. Pro cycling is a business, and big business at that. Top riders want to be paid seven figure salaries consistent with other top athletes. High quality TV coverage costs money. On and on...

You want purity of cycling sport without excess "business" interests, support your local CX scene.

Hey Rock is a train wreck, but so is the UCI...so when their Conti-pro license was under special review, expecting a good outcome was like expecting something right to be produced by combining two wrongs. It is becoming an annual ritual hoping that some of the truly decent guys on that team can come out unharmed....
