It's a bit strange because my measurements put me right in the wide range - my feet are about 110 wide at the widest part - but if you measure the shoes they are only about 105 wide outside to outside - so probably 101ish on the inside - and there's no give in the carbon bathtub.

Wore them sitting here for half an hour or so and they just felt snug and I don't think heat moulding would do enough. The double wide should be plenty.

Really nice shoes though - much better quality than the Vaypor's I had in 2013.
A rep at a demo fit session had one of these tools for pushing areas of the carbon bathtub outward.

Seemed to work the trick, but I have never tried it myself.

They are old and I can't remember if they were are wides or just stretched enough. For the Bont Riot+'s I traced and measured my foot and it looked like the Asian fit would work. It did not. I contacted Bont and had the double Asian recommended. To get that I need to go up to the Vaypor. Every time I get to the $400 range for shoes I get decision paralysis. I debate just getting custom shoes or going with the double wide Asian fit that I can't return.
Fizik have only started offering a wide shoe in the last year or two, and only in the R4 model. Also, old Fiziks and new Fiziks do not fit the same.

FWIW, length-wide the Fizik size chart is pretty accurate, but even going up a size doesnít make their non-wide shoes fit better. The only non-wife Fizik thatís capable of fitting like a wide shoe is the R2 Aeroweave.

I stopped trying on my wife's shoes. Just not into it anymore.

Today I used my canvas Keen Austins on flat pedals. Even in the heat a humidity they were fine. The ride was only 1 hour total but 25 minutes of it were fast laps at the bike park. I'm hoping I can use them for longer mountain bike rides too.

Looks like Carnac is still there, but no longer offering shoes.

These are definitively the answer - bit pricey but they come with a free pennant so I guess thatís fine.

I found the entire marketing package around these ďshoesĒ to be so repellent I almost wasnít sure they were an actual company, as opposed to a long-form joke ;)

These costs a lot whole less :

Better power transfer is such a shitty lie to make people buy expensive shoes anyway.

I'm pretty sure I tried the Shimano sandals and my pinky toe rolled off the side. Not as wide as they seem.

Sounds like some people have more than the normal 7 toes per foot.

The gap between my big toe and the next one is probably big enough to fit and 8th. Theses suckers splay.

While I was trying out Bonts and Fiziks I left the shoe stretcher in my left Lake shoe. My left is the slightly wider, more problematic foot. The stretcher had to be in there at least 2 weeks and it did stretch nicely. I did a 20 mile road ride without pain. The problem with stretching is that the overall volume of the shoe increased. Now I have to add volume with insoles and find the right balance.

I can't decide if I try Bont's non-returnable double Asian fit or start saving for custom shoes.

My double wide Bont's just arrived - and they look great. Definitely wider across the forefoot and they feel pretty good so far - although I'm only sitting at a desk. Looking forward to getting my cleats switched over and seeing what they're like.
