Sorry, I meant something like this: Bontrager Pro IsoCore VR-CF Road Handlebar - www.trekbikestore.com

I forgot the Lauf was a +12deg flare.

I'm fine with around 4-6deg on a road bike, maybe a bit more since the K8 is more "all-road".

I thought it was for the K8S?

Anything can look good if there is a fast guy using it. If Peter Sagan adopted it and got a new world title or some monument with it, everybody would buy one for their gofast bike.

Unless you're doing contract work for the Radavist no one is going to look at your bike from a frontal angle. Get the bars, they're probably dope. Racer Fred shit is the best.

I can’t keep track. What happened to the F10? I must have missed a couple pages of “So I’m thinking about a gravel bike....”

F10 is awaiting a Campy rebuild (SR11 and Shamal tubs).

K8-S is a side-project - seeing what it's like and whether I want to keep it around as a long-distance and rough-roads rider in addition to my Kirk MRB - but it's far from a gravel bike.. We're talking less than a 100g addition to the weight of a F8, similar aerodynamics, and modest tweaks to increase straight-line stability and tire clearance.

It is. The Talon integrated setup flares from 41 at the hoods to 44 at the drops - and that's pretty close to Salsa Cowbell 3 carbon bars, which are very comfy and perfect for a distance bike with the nice long hooks - if they had more aero tops, I'd be in.

And now to bring this full circle.....

Here's the F8, rescued from eBay, given a quick tune and swap of tires (it came to me with 23c Gatorskins!), bars, stem, saddle, and cages, and ridden triumphantly today.

The quick version is that I love the bike and have decided this is the one of the three that I'm keeping.

But it's not out of some magical divination of ride characteristics between the F10 and F8 - it's simply that I like the fit on the 57.5 better than the 59.5 for the style of riding I'm doing on this bike, which is short- and middle-distance ripping around on twisty roads and steep climbs. The smaller frame just feels more nimble, and having a bit more forward and lower of a stance means more speed and sharper, more confident handling. If the F10 was a 57.5 and the F8 a 59.5, I'd be keeping the F8. I do think the F10 is marginally stiffer and more outright efficient on smooth pavement - but all of that evens out when you've got part of the ride on rougher stuff (where the F8 feels like it shines a bit brighter) and part of smoother. Both are excellent bikes. It's an embarrassment of riches.

And the K8-S? A wonderful bike, but as I look lovingly at my Kirk MRB, I know it would be a bit too overlappy with that one to hold on to it. If it were a 57.5 though, I'd keep it too, since it would take clip-on aero bars nicely and make a perfect distance machine for me...for those post-Covid ultra and brevet deams.. The light weight, steady handling, and aero properties would be perfect there.

Up next is a rebuild with R11 EPS, eeBrakes, and Shamal Ultra tubs running Corsa 25s - plus Silca tape and maybe pulling another spacer from under the stem.

Here it is as ridden today:

    EDIT: "If the F10 was a 57.5 and the F8 a 59.5, I'd be keeping the F10."

With only a few rides on each with different components you cannot really conclude. But trust me you are making the right call here to keep the F8 !

True - this is not science - but I'm happy, and that's all that matters since I'm paying the bills :)

That's a great price for a new frameset with warranty and no chance of getting dinged for import duties - plus, you know, supporting a good shop.... I'm highly tempted by the Amla 57.5 that's due in..

When Pinarello does an upgrade cycle they eventually drop prices way down on older models. They were already heavily discounting older frames in the London Factory Store since the beginning of the year. I know my friend made a great purchase on a f10.

As for handlebars, I'd just stick with one of the MOST bars for the bike. These are good. I use MOST talons.
