How do you feel about lugged steel? There are one or two builders still using that technology...

lugged steel does not go into molds that have play in them and then wrap and resin

Really that drop-down menu should be at the top...er...sorry. I've been hanging out with my web developer girlfriend too long. That is a nice site.

Have you ridden a Calfee? I think they ride really nicely- Luna or Tetra, never rode a dragonfly. I worked for a shop 15 years ago that sold a bunch of them- I can not remember one customer complaining about ride or seeing any QC issues.

Never liked the way their drop outs looked but that is another topic.

Yeah, there's something about a repairable, simple, bomber carbon bike that appeals to me. Where else are you going to even approach a custom carbon frame for $2500? Seems pretty compelling to me . . .

Have sold a bunch plus owned a custom Tetra- It was Meh.
Saw lots of qc issues- lots of "off" angle bikes. Also know people that worked for calfee- they say the same thing. Really tough for calfee to make a frame that meets the mark 100% in terms of angles and weight.

I live within about an hour's bike ride from their shop.
there are a handful of Calfe bikes around here.

    I'd love to have one.

Hmm.. I never heard that before. I love my Tetra-Pro and know of 6 others who have a Tetra or a Dragonfly and none of them have had an issue. Maybe we were lucky I have raced lots of road races and crits on mine and it hasn't let me down. It's also a great all day bike-I've ridden it 207 miles in one day and countless centuries and didn't feel beat up afterwards. Sure they have making the frames the same way for 20 years but it's still a fun ride and it has a 25 year warranty.

I'm glad they updated their website. It's well done.
