I was working on my bike a few weeks ago and felt something jab my wrist... hmmm... got poked with a piece of cable sticking off of the floor ... well it ain't stuck in there so it must be on the floor somewhere... nope... after a few weeks of getting a tiny sharp pain in my wrist intermittently... I decide i should go to the doctor today... all the cash i saved on used parts and doing my own work will be going to a man with a knife and a fluoroscope. oh well...

this is one reason why bike shop rates are not too high. I had a friend that was constantly jabbing himself with cables while working on bikes. I haven't done it yet, hopefully I can avoid it.

Treat it with carbon past and leave it in there. That way, next winter when you're suffering, you can forget about the pain while you wonder if the cable strand is headed toward your heart or brain.
