Default help me with choosing my next cycling vacation destination

done a number of my bucket list rides, swiss alps, french alps, girona, mallorca, french pyrenees to name the big ones that come to mind. also did weekends up ventoux, levi's grand fondo and hincapie in south carolina.

what should be next? was thinking about cote de azur and dolamites. looking back I think I enjoy staying in the same base camp during the trip. just makes it more relaxed not to have to constantly change hotels. any good ideas?

I don't have any ideas, at least in Europe. But I'd agree it's nice not to have to move around in addition to riding.

Bend, Oregon. Easy to get to, and plenty of rental properties to choose from. Lots of good riding from town. Rent a minivan and drive to a couple of remote ride starts for more variety.

Anyone have a good recommendation on a Dolamite tour company that stays in the Dolamites for the week?

Absolutely grueling ride, but it was life-changing for me. Can't recommend this enough!

My cousin is a big fan of InGamba. Heís in the Dolomites right now on one of their tours. Pretty sure it is a week.

Those Hampsten boys put on a Dolomite tour most every year me thinks. Nice folks too. Buy a Hampsten and ride with one on the same trip.

Long time ago, I did a bikepacking weekend that started on the Austrian border south of Innsbruck (Brenner Pass) to Canazei in Trento, on to Cortina, then Liezen in Austria. It was amazing. The Dolomites are something else, and I say that having grown up in the Alps. If you do go there, I'd carefully check the town you're staying in. I do not remember Cortina d'Ampezzo fondly -- skiing towns like that can be pretty depressing in the summer.

If I went to mt bike in an exotic destination, Madeira in the spring would be very high on my list based on what I saw from the recent Enduro World Series event there.

(PS: that gravel grinder sounds fun!)

This one is pretty stellar, too.

Pro tip: if you're going to pinch flat on the incredibly difficult jeep trail between Hill Farmstead Brewery and Montpelier, make sure nobody has stocked up on fireworks from a country store.

Sardinia, I rode from Palau most days but did a few rides on LaMaddelena as well. The road along the north side of LaMadd was used in Bond movies, very beautiful.

I met up with two lads heading out today. They plan 14 days from Land's End to north of Scotland (Skye). I am intrigued.

So ride up the cornish coast, then through the hills and mountains of Wales. then slightly east to hit Yorkshire Dales, then the Lake District. Tons of good stuff before you even hit the Scottish highlands, the lochs and of course, Isle of Skye

This is next on my list. As soon as Autumn rolls around and the leaves begin to change(barring any sort of climate fiasco), Iíll have my bags packed.

Colombian coffee triangle. Base yourself here: Casa du Velo Cycling Hotel in Filandia, Quindio, Official Website

not too high (3000ft or so base elevation), easy to get to from the US, cheap, safe, amazing riding, great food, amazing locals, amazing part of the world, fun things to do off the bike.

Try the Keweenaw. Nearly empty roads. Super topography. Great people and Lake Superior around every corner.
