Default Garmin mounts - do they all bounce?

Watching the TdF coverage this last week I've noticed that whenever they do a closeup of riders with a Garmin mounted in front of the bars that they the Garmins are bouncing up and down quite a bit. Is this due to the long arm of the mounts and the fact that they are all plastic and not too rigid? I run an SRM PC8 and the plastic mount is very short and the PC8 never vibrates.

    I'm curious.

I just use the stock Garmin mount and I don't get any bouncing. Maybe they have access to new floppier models...

it's more aero: adapted wave modulation technology developed by cervélo and licensed by garmin....actually i've never noticed, but then again this year I'm watching on the small screen, as in lap top. will have to pay more attention

You sure it's the mount bouncing and not the whole front end of the bike moving up and down as they roll over bumps and whatnot?

I don't think mine bounces. But generally if things are a getting rowdy I'm not looking down at the Garmin.

I've got an "out front" mount on my gravel bike, and don't notice any bouncing. I'm guessing it's the whole front of the bike moving.

I’ve seen this bouncing and I think it’s real. Something I’m sure manufacturers will try to rectify soon because it’s getting global TV coverage.

I don't think it's the whole bike. You can see the Garmin buzzing so much that I wonder how the riders can read it sometimes.

Its maybe an un-answerable question? In that maybe the mount is bouncing, but the incumbent rider is on the same harmonic frequency as the bike and mount, so its not noticeable from the helm....?

All I can say is that I've tried multiple different Garmins units on Multiple mounts, over multiple surfaces on multiple bikes, and I've never found it a problem.

Or just ditch the Garmin mount and buy a K-Edge mount.

Correct answer! Look back at Sagan in Paris-Roubaix this spring. His stem may have loosened, but his K-Edge computer mount held nicely.

My 3 garmin mounts have never loosened and were a fraction of the K-edge price.

The Direct Energie guys were definitely having some buzz through the mount, very noticable. With these huge Garmins and consequently a longer mount it is somewhat inevitable unless you want to overbuild it.

But yeah, K-Edge is great. My Enve stem mounted one is rock solid too.

Ambivalent about Garmin, but not about K-Edge or the Enve mount, both rock solid with a 520.

Or at least there’s no perception of rattle or vibration when viewed from the bike.

The stock Garmin out front mount works fine with a Bolt, no wobble.

I am looking for a out front mount for 23.8, ever find one ?

    stock garmin is great.

I have a cheap out in front from amazon and it vibrates but it is really thin and cheap feeling (it was cheap). I really need to change that $3 mount to something nicer on a $5,000 bike lol.
