This is an older article (2005) from one of the local weeklies - but it's a good read.

Wow - I missed this article when it came out atmo.
So much pathetic-ness, so little time.
I love how people dismiss French journalism...whether it is dopage or WMD, it seems we are quick to dismiss the Frogs.
"To me, this is an issue for the French people. They seemed very concerned about it, and frankly I don't care what they think. And I don't think Lance does either," Reuters quoted USA Cycling COO Steve Johnson as saying last week. "This is just a publication in a French tabloid newspaper. That's our perspective."
Ugh that guy makes my blood boil. I cut up my USA Cycling license years ago.
$12 million in savings/assets over at USA Cycling ..... ugh they are such weasels. Non profit my ass.
Nonprofit Report for USA CYCLING INC
Looking at the filings from 2008 to 2010 (where you can also see 2007), net assets as a % of annual expenses ranges from 95% to 125%.
I don't know the financial mechanics of too many non-profits, but I wouldn't call that an unreasonable working capital cushion, really.
$3.6M in total comp, and ~50 people listed on their staff page (who knows the F/T vs P/T breakdown) but I doubt anyone's getting rich here.
Not saying there's no flaws to this organization, but that doesn't seem to be one of them, particularly as regards something like the Komen Fdn mess, etc.

Wow,
There's still hope for journalism here. Thanks for the link.
