    Default FNL 386 commentary.

IMO FNL has been going downhill for a while, much like the rest of VS.

Mr Craddock you have single handedly reversed the slide. Awesome work.

    Nate

I assume you are taking umbrage to my comment that FNL has been going downhill.

It's not aimed at you, nor at any other particular practitioner. VS is very much steel centric and I think there is little of interest being done in this medium now and naturally FNL reflects this. That's a personal viewpoint, everyone is welcome to disagree.

It's a rare thing that anyone posts something in FNL that I haven't seen before , Richard Craddock did exactly that.

I find refinement of traditional craft skills pretty interesting, but it's ok if we differ on that. But that Filament is pretty cool. Thanks for posting this week, folks!

Thanks for the kind words Mark and Eric. I haven't posted for a while but I still view FNL every week and enjoy what I see. It also gives me a window on our individual and collective labours to remind me that I'm not the only one working alone in a little workshop.
    Have a good weekend all.

I look at the amazing steel (and titanium, and aluminum) bikes shown here every week with great interest and pleasure. Such great work! So much to learn from and be inspired by. I'm personally far less excited by the carbon fiber (as great work as they are too...) as it moves towards the mass produced mainstream.

    No. It's a Filament.

And I, for one, dig all the stuff that gets posted in FNL each week, no matter the material.

FNL has had its thin weeks but I attributed that to the peaks and valleys of builder's workload. I like seeing the detail of the Winters, as much art as bike. What I like more than anything else is a straight up road bike frame, nice lines, a decent head tube length, a smooth transition between the fork and frame whether it's steel or carbon, the whole thing that works together. The top tube could even have some slope. My favorite so far this year has been the Llewellyn Colossus.

Everyones work this week is great as it is every week.
