Default First world problem - spare wheel storage inside?

How do you guys store your extra wheels? Wife and I each have 2 sets of wheels for our 3 bikes, so 3 sets of wheels aren't in use at any given moment. I don't want to keep them in the garage. Y'all are a clever group...what do y'all do? Not really wanting to put holes in the wall, as j-hooks would be the easiest solution. Have a front room dedicated to bikes and gear, which is where these will be.

Not sure if it's what you are looking for...
I screwed a piece of 1 x 9 pine board into the ceiling and added some hooks. Slotted these in above the stand-up freezer (pretty underutilized space) in the utility room.

I keep mine in a temperature and humidity controlled room, pressurized with nitrogen to eliminate oxidation. Think humidor. But for wheels.

Seriously, I just hang them up on hooks if they're not on the floor and I just keep them in the garage. I'm over being precious with my stuff.

Double or single wheel bags hanging from hooks. The bags keep them protected and the hooks up and out of the way.

Wheelbags in a closet. You can't keep nice bike parts in a garage where I live. Though with so many extra sets of wheels it sounds like it's time for a new bike!

    Wish I had a garage!
Need to relocate those 12 (or more, plus all the tyres) that are behind the sofa.
this is what happens when you don't have a girlfriend in the house

Thinking of a floor-to-ceiling timber with offset pegs, so to keep more wheels in as little space as possible.

Yeah, I'm just not a fan of the garage thing for stuff I don't want to lose. We live in a good area, but still....I'd rather them be inside. I like the 2 hooks and a rod idea, as I can incorporate that into something I already have. Hmmm.

And the ol' closet. Duh. That one escaped me somehow. Too obvious, I guess.

I found these hooks that are basically a normal hanger hook on top with a rounder hook offset 90 degrees on the bottom. They're perfect for hanging wheel bags or tires in the closet. It's also fun to look in and see wheels hanging along side jackets and other clothing.

    Da hell?!?!

I would kill to have a garage... just so I could have a place to store my spare bike wheels!

Oh, and my spare bikes too.

Right now our spare wheels are hanging on wire hooks from the ceiling of the storage locker that we have in the basement of our apartment building. Except for the one that the missus uses when she puts her bike on the trainer, that wheel is just leaning up against a wall in the corner of the Living Room.

    Seriously, I wish I had a garage.

I could live in a garage. Why do I need a living room? Most of the living rooms if not all have a "museum quality" meaning they are empty of any action.

And what does one who lives in his garage do? My highest quality time is spent in the garage. I get my news, my sports, my gossip and keep my bikes in their perfect working order in the garage. The rest of the house is for sleeping and other necessary functions. Because, you know, there aren't any woods close enough here.

I keep the current bikes in the garage along with all my wheels. Behind me in my mancave is an MX Leader and a 97 vintage former Team Shaklee GT. I have wire shelves so none on my spare wheels are on the floor, just arranged vertically in pairs. It's NE Texas, it gets hot but never colder than the mid 20's. There are 7 sets of wheels in the garage along with the Ti Serotta, Pegoretti BLE, and the Gunnar.

Waiting on Kickstarter order for those things. In the meantime, my spare wheels are hidden from my wife. Also hidden may be a frame and gruoppo but I can't remember where I stashed them.

Those are badass. I'd put a few holes in the wall for those.

It's pretty easy to build something like this to hold lots of wheels. If you back it against a wall you will only be able to use one of the two sides for hanging walls. If you don't have as many wheels as me (hope you don't), then it shouldn't be a problem.

    That's almost everyone's dream.
    But it takes space.

Like those hooks posted above (Bicycle Wheel Storage | Foothill Products) I find that a big offset between two wheels saves a lot of space. Hubs do waste space in a rack, so either you offset the hanging hooks, or you keep the wheels on a suitable angle in respect of the line they're stashed (think how Shimano wheels are packed in a box)

i remember the first time i unboxed a wheelset from shimano. i was pissed, because i thought they only sent one wheel, and it was a warranty deal.

those hooks are the cleanest i've seen, and quite clever/ obvious/ simply. wonder what the hold up is in shipping. hoping they have stock for sale, and not just pre-orders.
