    Default Fast Bikes - Discuss

Did I break a rule by asking a question about a production bike (Ridley Noah)?? Thread was closed??

If I had asked about a Peg, or a Firefly, or a Gaulzetti, would the thread have been closed? I'm guessing those bikes don't simply 'depend on whose riding' them...

now that i think of it, maybe you're on to something here.
i've changed the title of the thread to "fast bikes". let's all talk about which bike is fast.

Feel free to close this thread too, as it will probably turn into nothing good. Again, I'm sure if I had asked what one of the forum 'favorites' was like, it wouldn't have been closed.

Oh look, there is a Peg thread, someone asking for opinions on them, and it has been open for several days with lots of replies allowed. Wow, thats weird! Great moderating job tonight.

I spent the summer riding my mountain bike and rando bike and now my hampsten is a rocket ship. Don't worry about what bike is 'fast' - that's been beaten to death over and over (that's why your first thread was locked) - ride your B bike for a while and your A bike will BECOME fast.

Seriously? You're getting pissy because someone thought it was a stupid question to ask if a bike is 'fast'?

What's the answer you're looking for? Aero drag coefficients?

    To the OP:

I'm no expert, but I'm sure the Ridley's fast enough for anyone on the forum if that's what you want to try to do with it.

If it fits, if you can put the tires you want on it, etc etc etc.

OK..........Perhaps I see where the confusion is..............
The NAME of the frame model is 'FAST'. Ridley Noah Fast. Was that really what was confusing people?? Sorry if it seemed as though I was over reacting, but maybe now you understand why! :)

My bikes aren't fast when I don't ride them and order wings and cheese steaks while eating out all the time.

My bikes get faster when I ride them more and watch what I eat.

I bet they'd get really fast if I had a refrigerator in my garage.

    Get what we are saying?

My fastest bike is my road bike, I find that i have couple mph faster average speed on that bike then the others. My single speed mtb seems to be the slowest due to the low gearing.

I don't think the original poster was asking if the bike was fast, he was just asking for observations on a bike made by Ridley (Belgium company) that has a model called the "Noah Fast". So he was not asking of the Ridley Noah is fast, but rather asking about "Ridley Noah Fast."

The title of the thread is subject to two interpretations particularly if one does not know that "Fast" is the model name. The title could be read as you asking if the bike is fast.

    It is not.

Edit: I need to type fast(er)

In other news, a good friend of mine had a Noah as a team bike. He said he has had (many) other bikes that he has liked much better.

I stand corrected. It's hard to differentiate between terrible marketing and the expected absence of proper puncuation on an Internet forum.

Noah Fast, terrible name and who knew?
