There's a little bit of Winston Churchill in all of us who've battled cancer, we shall never surrender, nor go quietly into the night. With tears, my thoughts are with his family, Ezra is finally at peace. He shall be missed.

This hurts to read and I am at a far remove from Ezra and his circle. Peace to his family and friends.

hearing this hurts. im surprised by how much actually, but at the same time, knowing the type of person he was and the incredible poise he maintained, im not. he did everything with such reason and passion that i could only hope to find in my life. he did it right, made the most of everything he had. ill miss learning from him.
i wish the best for his family.

I always enjoyed his writing; raw and real. Such an interesting guy who truly embraced life like few people can. Sad..

Ezra opened his shop to me, taught me about frame building, and had me over just to bullshit. He was always more interested in talking about my life than his. And in the past year, he was always more interested in discussing my physical well-being than his own.

He had a passion for people. He taught not by talking, but by showing. His biggest lesson, be it making bicycles or living or dying, was that if it's going to be on your terms, you've got to figure it out for yourself.

I'm so pleased that his exit was a private affair. A life lived so large will never really end anyway.

Big love. Fast Boy out. ❤️

we all gotta go sometime, somehow. if we're mourned and missed and lauded far and wide, well, we did something right along the way and i gather ezra did a lot.

i never met ezra, but he seems like a class act - intentionally in the present tense because i know i'll think about him in that light for a long time

I remember watching the short documentary, a year ago, and watching the video on his website just now.

I only met you through looking at the bikes you built, well done, they're lovely.

    Rest in peace.

    Thanks Ezra.

    We payed our respects today.

I thought I had it together. I did, mostly.

But it's easy to forget, through the tragic and drawn-out circumstances of his death, what a chaotic force he was in life. He kicked open doors and announced himself at the top of his lungs. His absence will be felt. Catharsis will not come quick or easy.

We learned first hand today the true meaning of the word "wake," as we are all living is his.
