    Default Ebike conversion touring

I ran into a young couple this morning in Seattle’s Public Market and they’ve ridden this e-bike conversion from Northern California. Pretty cool story and there’s a bit more information on their website and YouTube. I especially appreciate the fact that they pull a cart with their gear and use solar panels to charge the batteries…pretty cool.

My 73y old father converted his old Raleigh Team Professional with a similar rear wheel based kit, although without solar panel. His Look 585 is still his main bike but he would use the e-bike to not stress out his heart when it is too hot or for specific hilly rides with people with better level of fitness.

Here’s a YouTube link to their buggy and panels if you’re interested, as the buggy was parked at a friend’s apartment in Cap Hill while they toured the city. I just happened to be snapping a pic of their bike when they were returning from a coffee in the market and I was lucky enough to run into them to hear their story.
