Thanks for posting these CJones. Great seeing some of these that i never have. I think the Vermont style barn one is my favorite so far.

It goes into the ravening maw of creditors. If bankrupt, then the court decides. Pre-reg is last in that line, if in line at all.

Good question. They were using eventbrite for registration from what I've been told. I don't know how or when eventbrite transfers received monies to event promoters. I would think it would be considered a cash asset and would be need to be held in escrow till the terms of the bankruptcy were decided.

Good to hear they are keeping the event alive. I raced the 24 hour event at Big Bear a few times and enjoyed the course. I don't know if they have a trail network as big as Allegripis though. It might get crowded on the trails.

For the last few years there were 2 DirtFests -- the original one in PA at Raystown in May and a 2nd one in WV at Big Bear in July. I would guess they are trying to work out something so the PA one can go on too.

I still have a few from 97/98. It was always a great read.

I love this cover. The artist and the subject were both acquaintances of mine, in the day. You remember "the day," right?

They just announced that the Pennsylvania DirtFest has also been saved:

We are happy to announce that the advocacy group Friends of Raystown Lake is picking up the Dirt Fest Pennsylvania torch with a new event on the same weekend, May 15-17, 2020. Like Dirt Fest, the Raystown Bike Fest will be a fundraiser for the Allegrippis Trail network and now, all proceeds from your registration will go back into the maintenance of the trails and bike park! Raystown Bike Fest will be capping attendance at just over 800 for its first year with a goal of a small grassroots event similar to the early days of Dirt Fest.

Love the cool artwork on some of those older editions you all found. Terrific.

Very pro of them to be able to redirect the registration fees...that says a lot.

Wondering how they'll keep attendance at 800 with all the camping and cabins available nearby. Trails are free. Event has turned into quite the party over the years
