    Default Days like today....

...are good for getting caught up on odd and ends. 30* this morning. As it warmed up the winds picked up to a level I don't feel like fighting them, not at this time of year. So , got the drivetrain and frame cleaned.

Then I had the hungers. Good cool days are good for

    and

Now time for a little play time with the pooch.

    attack mode

now, Sidi's idea of fetch is I throw the ball, she leaps and plucks it out of mid air. So far so good but the it goes horribly wrong. Then she runs like a bat outta h3ll to keep the ball.

Had a nice ride this am, stopped at my favourite place,
the brick street bakery for a BLT on the way home.
Guess how it got it's name?

I'm having chili later. It looks like the rain is settling in for the season here. Had a great dry ride yesterday.

Today: I'm in the man cave aka garage working on chit. Blog post to follow.

Ive had a very similar day. CX race tomorrow so today has been all about being outside with the dog. I am cooking up some homemade red sauce to go with fresh mozz and soppressata, and some pizza dough my wife made before she took off to visit relatives. Beer, pizza, and baseball- bachelor style.

Took the HED C2's and green Vittorias off the CAAD9 and replaced with Tiagra/OS and GP 4seasons in 700x28. With my Cannondale serving as commuter while my crosser is geared down and knobbied up to race, I want fatter rubber and cheaper hoops with the dark evening commute days upon us.

More Pooch-Time is also good to make sure you don't get over-trained. A little more catch and fetch and you'll come into your best form of the season. Or your dog will . . .

It's a nice time of year to ride in Florida. For whatever reason I seem to have settled on 30-35 mile solo rides. 63 degrees this morning, then off to my grandsons t ball game.

3rd damn day in a row with a fever and feeling like sh1t. Planned for a ride tomorrow, but very much doubt I'll make it. At least next week, I'll be back in FL and back to my daily riding schedule.

Nice photo of the bike. The color saturation, the simple uncluttered background with the geometric shape of the bricks, the gloss of the bike. It all comes together looking like a high end catalog photo.

we heard that wind today--but we were riding out in the woods (sewanee), so our feathers never ruffled. someone said, "hey, that wind is really blowing." we agreed, but never felt a puff.

then we ate at the great little sandwich shop.
then i made all these plans on what to do when i got home.

    got home, took a nap.

then blackened some catfish and saffroned some rice.

My day started at 5:30 am on an 8000' ridge in the San Gabrial mountains trying to do an interview with Jordan Romero (the kid who climbed Everest earlier this year at age 13) beautiful view at dawn but as soon as the sun started to come up we got 50 mph gusts and sideways sleet, not Ideal for shooting an interview so we bailed down to Holcomb valley and had a nice shoot there, beautiful up here in the Mtns.

Well, I spent the day clocked in, so days like today I don't particularly enjoy. I live for tomorrow. or "manana" as Kerouac says.

In CA that's gotta be a BLTA (plus avocado). I have high cholesterol so I thought maybe I could trade cheese and lunch meat for bacon crunchy with the lard rendered off and mayonnaise and some healthy fat.

Anyway yum and I think I'll make it out tomorrow for a 600m climb, 10km rolling on the Skyline/Santa Cruz Mtns ridge and then back down.
