    Default D2R2 support?

I am wondering whether the VS contingent need support during the race. My condition sucks this year, as it did last, due to farming duties, but I would be happy to drive either my truck or Jetta wagon in support of the members who are coming to do the event.

You are an bro and a saint for offering. This is an supported ride and personally I like to do it under same conditions as all the other cats eg. no handups. The water stops and support they give is very decent.

    Darn nice thought.

Well, then I guess I should sign up to help out at the Land Trust, and then I will get a chance to put faces to the names here. Thanks.

See you there - I may need those heart-paddle-thingies at some point.

Hurry; contact Sandy Whittlesey through the Franklin Land Trust or the New Horizons Bike Shop. Tell him you want to help out. If you have a pick up truck, he will worship the ground you walk on.

One of my riding buddies couldn't do D2R2 one year for health reasons so he just came up with us for the drive and volunteered to help Sandy do "whatever". He basically became a schlepper for the day of food, water, and injured cyclists, with Sandy riding shotgun. The stories my friend had to tell afterwards made him proclaim it was easily as much fun as doing the ride itself, but more rewarding.

While I in no way want to steer you away from volunteering, outside mountain biking I haven't put in more than 30 miles the year and I've only done that a coupe times. I say ride and join me in the pain!

I called FCLT this morning, and I'm waiting to hear back. Maybe I can do both. The fact that I have a pickup truck means I'm particularly useful to them, so we'll see.
