Default Circumnavigating the US for Young Life: Matthew Broshat

A post on another forum alerted me to a guy doing an "around the US tour" to raise money for a Young Life Capuraum. He started in Portland yesterday.

Looks like I'll be hosting Matt at my place tonight, as I'm just a couple miles off his route near Tacoma, and the distance works out about right for him.

So, VS, consider his route, consider supporting him in any way you can, whether it's a place to stay, some cool drinks along the way, repairs if needed, whatever.

His website, with contact facility: Pedal the Perimeter.

Where's Waldo? Touring the USA with Matt Broshat! After an evening of chicken enchiladas, games, and a good night's sleep in a guest bed, Matt was off for day 3, heading north into Seattle before turning east and across the northern states. Hopefully this was just the first of many hosted nights for Matt on his journey around our fair country. Please consider opening your home to him. Check his website for contact info and planned route: Bikerbroshat

Matt has made his way to Spokane (yesterday), and will be continuing on out of Washington and eastward.

    Go Matt!

And... Matt is now within a couple days of finishing this odyssey, well ahead of schedule, way below budget, and exceeding his initial goal of fund raising. If he were cut out for corporate life, I think any company would be foolish to not hire him.

I'm planning to take a trip to Portland to meet him when he finishes, take him out to dinner, and hopefully gather some of the local Portland cycling community (he's still having to pay his way back home). I'm thinking Hopworks Bike Bar. Keep tuned for the date -- will likely be Wednesday, but could slide a day either way.
