Question CF seatpost in CF frame -- prep?

    Howdy folks.

I am going to use a Look Ergopost in a Look frame (with that wedge thing that secures the seatpost). What if anything should I use between the two? I have read warnings against using grease, but I think it is Craig Calfee that recommends using grease. My feeling is that grease is the way to go, it would be pretty dumb if CF bike parts were harmed by grease...

    Thanks, Doug

    Use carbon specific grease.

Ritchey makes some and your LBS should have it.

i assemble mine bone dry unless someone has a slippage issue. then taxc paste.

in your case, that wedge? its aluminum? keep that stuff well maintained and greasy if it is to come in contact with carbon.

if epoxy breaks down in grease we are all eff'd

The carbon paste should be used anytime you have carbon to anything contact.
    1) it helps from any type of slippage
    2) you can cut down on the the amount of torque needed for securing said object

    time recommends grease
i have always used the carbon paste- its a little grit in grease basicly.
it eliminates any possibility of slippage.

Effetto Mariposa CarboGrip, it's a spray. Great for carbon to carbon.

    simpel

those glass pearls are a mixure for filling that you can buy at store that supply polyester.

    mixed with grease
sell it and you can make a fortune (if you sell enough)
