Default Can I wear my old USPS jersey again yet?

Earlier this summer, when the temps were pushing 100 degrees, I dug around in a bin of old cycling stuff for a jersey to butcher. I came up with an old T-Mobile jersey from 2005, and eyeballed the sleeve removal with a pair of poultry shears.

I wore it this weekend in notice of the Tour's start, complete with flouro Rapha accents on my lower half to make sure I wouldn't look too good. When I stopped by a buddy's place to pick him up, he laughed at me and promptly put on a yellow Sky jersey he recently received as a gift. We had a great ride, perhaps mildly enabled by wearing jerseys bordering on Primal Wear, but more taboo.

So, can I break out my old USPS jersey again? Why, or why not?

My friend bought me a maillot jaune from the Charles De Gaulle airport last year when he came to visit. I wore it today. It makes a good hi-vis jersey out on the mtn bike trails.

To the original question....As I recall there was a lifetime ban, but after the recent occurrences with Chris Froome and Sky, you've earned your stripes. Wear it.

World Champion stripes should be back in vogue soon, too! :-)

The statute of limitations has totally run on that.

I have a Mellow Johnny's vest that my wife got me as a surprise on a business trip to Austin. I have to wear that at least once or twice a year. I've been asked snidely about it once, and I just said my wife bought it for me at a bike shop in Austin and that ended that.

I am not sure I'd wear the USPS jersey simply because the USPS drives me nuts on a regular basis (even though I believe there should be a USPS) by losing packages, blaming me for their mistakes, not holding my mail when requested and confirmed, incessant surly behavior by clerks at the P.O., mis-deliveries of other people's mail to our building in NYC, etc. etc. etc....

Just add the correct sponsor logos and you'll be legal.

Speaking of stuff I need to dig out of my archives, these are so bad they're good, not totally dissimilar to Friday's flowers on a Monday:

Isn't Big George making jeans or something now? Has anyone tried a pair?

I've been considering a 2018 World Cup Team Russia shirt to wear while enjoying my apres ride coffee.

For your post-ride espresso let your Livestrong wristband take center stage

I saw a guy out riding a couple of weeks ago in full USPS kit riding a USPS Trek 5200.

After that, you can do pretty much anything.

My local club has a weekly ride called (creatively) Thursday Night Fast Ride or TNFR for short. On one summer evening we rename it to Thursday Night Fred Ride and hold a contest to see who can come up with the fredliest attire using only kit they own. Lots of USPS, Primal, and Nashbar stuff that hasn't been worn in years gets seen in the light of day. It's great fun.

Go truly old school...like 1990 World Cup old school...and make sure that СССР (Союз Советских Социалистических Республик) is on the front of the jersey.

My thought, although my father in law got spoken to several times for wearing his Che Guevara cap in public.
Still considering a rebel flag jersey to get the respect from the guys that most bother us out riding.
Just don't know what the unintended consequences will be.

The unintended consequences won't be good. Interesting experiment, let us know how that works out for ya!

My "worst" jerseys somehow have all shrunk, and don't fit very well...

I feel so much better now.

I'm going to stop covering these up, and as before be loud and proud of my LA tats.

That's nothing. I got a David Clinger tattoo. On my face. Simultaneously redundant and ironic. And I can wear a period correct USPS jersey with it. Top that.
