    rain? ugh.

anybody ever do this in the rain?

if warm weather, could be fun.

if cold weather, i could instead remain at home and eat alot....

I just saw a buncha dudes walking around Bennington wearing svelte cycles warmups. Also saw someof pucci's crew today warming up on juniper swamp.
It's gonna be a great day,
    Even if wet.

The forecast currently looks like scattered showers might not happen 'til early afternoon. Hopefully it will just be overcast but not raining for the race (or at least not raining for most of it, anyway). Temps should be in the mid 50's.

I did the recon ride for fun a couple of weeks ago and it rained hard for 4 days straight prior to the ride—even so, the dirt sections were hard packed and well drained, and in much better shape than I expected. Regular tires should be fine, and I wouldn't go any wider than 24-25mm.

Have a great race, guys! It's an awesome route.

    Default drive-by

My son and I did a drive through town this afternoon. Lots of riders registering and some real pretty bikes on the roofs (saw a Sachs on a car with Jersey plates ~ my son didn't understand why that one was the one I pointed out most enthusiastically).
Weatherman is saying mild start (40s), clouds developing later in the day, chance of some rain in the "north country". As he keeps talking, isolated showers possible for Cambridge area for tomorrow afternoon.

If you're NOT planning to ride and are in Bennington, can't beat the Blue Benn for a killer breakfast.

Yeah, if you're in town within 24 hours of a mealtime you need to stop there.

darren put his last 4 bikes on my credit card.
i was declined for a cup of coffee this am.

    my comment to him was
"darren, put breakfast on my cc... you deserve it.."

his reply. " i needed a few bikes to get to the breakfast place... 4 should do it... thanks..."
