    Default Awesome online shopping experience

    When your socks come with Twizzlers and glitter, it's amazing. Unexpected, and fun, and it makes the connection. Makes you realize that the person on the other end of the transaction appreciates you as much as you appreciate them.

    I made an insanely good purchase on the eBizzle this week, from Taiwan. I've been guilty of some Taiwan and China bashing in the past, my instinct to protect domestic manufacturing. But I'm also a Swamp Yankee who can't resist a bargain.

    So this arrives with my purchase,

    And that's not all. These guys rock!

    We sincerely hope you will have a good time of using our products, and a pleasant purchasing experience from the previous purchasing.
    How adorable is that?

    It appears that you let them handle your need—it's only fair that you recommend them to your friends in the worldwide.

    Sorry to be that guy but these comments leave me feeling a bit icky.

    I think it is beneath us all to comment on, or make fun of, non-native English speakers.

    Agree with the sentiment.
    On the other hand, many people in the far east are smiling , because, no matter what Der Don says, the production battle has been fought and won by them.

    This little prize came with my crackerjacks too:

    Speaking of language, that looks to be Bostonian too. Pooch was so kind as to run one term through the Language of Greater Boston Translator (LGBT):

    Swamp Yankee ==> Cheap Prick

    Living out here westah Wishtah, we understand LGB but don't speak it. Such as:

    Riding Buddy ==> Asshat
    Turn Left ==> Bang a Louie
    Yankee Fan ==> Needle Dick

    Hope that helps!

    Now let’s not get personal about the Yankees (baseball team). It’s not my fault the Red Sox suck.

    Maybe we should get back to your original post about a foreign based online company offering good customer service.

    I like hearing a different turn of phrase. I got it from my Dad who grew up in eastern Poland until they moved the border and then it was western Russia and he got a lot of religious instruction as a Catholic so he was good with Latin, Polish, Russian, German and English. He had ways of describing things that were different from anybody else I heard and some of them still are with me. When we contracted out the programming staff to a whole bunch of people from India, some of the phrases make me chuckle ('Hello, good noon!'), but some are really good like 'Sure, I'll do the needful'. It beats hearing the same old all the time like the people over the wall in finance who shout 'Oh Emm Gee!' when they get excited.

    I can't even, on account of (onna conna) the first question not having tonic (tawnic) for an answer. I'm off to the frickin packie, chowdaheads.

    Re: Yankee fans. You might want to take any description of body parts south of the border as a compliment. I’m guessing a lot of baseball fans haven’t seen below their bellies since the Cheney administration.

    You're not sorry, you love doing it.
    It takes a special type to turn everything into something it's not.

    Sir, I believe you are wrong. You have no idea what my intentions are/were. You made it personal using the words "it takes a special type". I was making a general comment and not "criticizing" any specific individual.

    In our current climate, there is no reason to dance with xenophobia even if that was not the original intent of some of the responses.

    As a community, we set our own standards for decorum and I believe those standards were being crossed. If the mods do not agree, please feel free to delete this and my other post in this thread (not the Yankees related one). Nobody ever said VSalon was a democracy and I am happy to live within the confines of its self defined rules.

    I hardly think having a chuckle about a form letter from a foreign bicycle retailer turns us into the dark forces of intolerance. Indeed, I think the impulse to insist on a boa constrictor approach to increased sensitivity is a stronger destructive force against tolerance than the sort of cathartic release of (perhaps) anxiety and (probably) tension about the day to day of being human in this world that humor offers.

    But that's just my totalitarian view of the world.

    I truly admire people who can function in a second (or third) language. I do not have those skills.

    But awkward wordings are awkward wordings. We are delighting in the language, not denigrating the writers.

    I agree. It actually increases intolerance.
