I used to cycle commute 4 or 5 days a week. That was a 30 mile round trip. Now its 150 miles and I only work 2 days. Not sure I could manage it, maybe I could.

I found an interesting chart
Without giving it too much thought I figured having a CTL of 40 as a minimum would be a decent place to aim. Then ramp it up for things I want to do well at, whatever that might be. Right now 100km ride in under 4 hours is still the immediate goal. I've had a guess at a ATL of 55 being the right point for this and put together a loose training plan to achieve that level in June. I've been riding 4-6 times a week since December and am loving it.

I've been reading a book, and one thing in there was about compelling dreams and goals that stick with you. I've always wanted to do PBP so that's the real goal here. Seems doable now for some reason, despite the obvious unknowns and inexperience.
Out of curiosity (so I can delve a little deeper for selfish reasons), where did this chart come from?

It may take us Yanks four years to get mentally fit starting today.
Good luck with your personal mission.
Well a month and a half in and I'm way fitter than I was and feel so much better mentally
Creeping up on the 40 CTL target, and now I've got a smart trainer can start watching the power outputs. Threshold HR went up 3 BPM too.

Nice work. Steady consistent not overreaching TOO much. Yep.
Those charts make my past prep. for transcontinentals and PBP look like the nut I iz;).

Trying to be sensible. Having these charts really helps. My general thoughts every minute I'm not working out is that I'm wasting time. That is the curse of the obsessive I guess.
Last week was my second 500TSS week in a row, no sign of fatigue at all, had Sunday off and a super light Monday. Now I'm ready to press on, get a bit more volume and test my power. CTL up to 47, I appear to have smashed through the 40 target, not going to set another target as I want to see how much I can do without getting tired for the following week.

I'm down 6kg to 80kg now, putting in way more protein and carbs than I was to start with and really struggling to eat enough. Having to track it a little closely because I can quite easily end up below 2000kcal for the day when I've done 800kcal of work.
The only place I'm really struggling is holding back on trying to work on power. I have done a couple of Zwift TTs, and got invited to join Team Type 1 in their D cat group.

The power has increased month on month but I feel so impatient and just want to smash 2x20s and VO2 max sessions. Must focus on base, must focus on base.
