After the first group hit the line it was all they could do to stay upright, and most needed to be assisted to continue further.

    Impressive regardless.

As always, the teams who have a strong leadout train in the mountains is not par of the MPCC association and obviously promote indirectly a liberal use and abuse of allowed drugs and PEDS. For all his talent, riders such as WvA who can mix in with Bennett, Sagan and Ewan shouldn't be able to drop GC leaders in an HC climb and still roll easily in 29th position at the finish line.

That was a nasty last 5-6kms. A lot of matches were burnt I suspect.

What do you think the setup is in pic #17 .
That looks like the way to go.

Mark Hirschi sold some Craft Dyneema bibshorts today. Slid at speed and for distance on his left hip during a descent and still had pants on. Impressive.

Kwiatkowski is one of the cagiest finishers in the business. Bet he knew just what to say to Hirschi after the KOM sprint to get him a bit over-ramped on the descent.

I reckon Hirschi will have a pretty sore hip tonight, irrespective of his bib shorts.

I liked the last climb (narrow and step) and the gravel conclusion.

    A good stage for Ineos.

How about what he must've said to Carapaz to get him to let him roll across the finish line first?

Kwiatkowski did all the work and Carapaz had done enough to take the KOM jersey. Easy conversation I think.

There was also some neat riding by Kwiatkowski, following behind Hirschi, to avoid the crash himself.

With the world champion bands on Kwiat's sleeve I don't think there was much discussion. He was probably ribbing him about Ecuador's fledgling doping program.

Whatís with the Ineos bikes? Did Pinarellos get lighter during the year? They arenít using investment banker wheels this year, anyone know why/why not?

Amazingly, for a World Champion and six years since he won the World Championship, yesterday was Kwiatkowski's first stage win in a Grand Tour. Richard Carapaz had previously won three stages of the Giro d'Italia.

They did ride Lightweights, but they are also riding a prototype Shimano wheelset. This according to CyclingTips? I think thatís where I read it. I think the frame is newish but was introduced when the livery changed to Grenadiers blue and red.
