VanAert crashes when almost back in the group. If it weren’t for bad luck he’d have no luck at all.

Ugh. Right after the bike change. His socks are so thin they look like tattoos.

    Miss Suntour Superb!

Wout Van Aert has made it back it appears. Amazing. Paul said Davis Phinney was still present, but was corrected by Bob Roll.

Sagan comes up to wrestle the bear. He’s tailed by a couple of vans: Aert and Marcke. And Lampaert in the Belgian jersey.

    Advantage Gilbert?

Too early to say that but I’d be totally satisfied with a PhilGil win. He’s classy.

Can’t believe Wout Van Aert not only made it back but is now in the elite lead group. His talent is ever more clear.

    This is a dangerous group.

Politt’s teeth are so bleached they look like a mouth guard.

The six-man breakaway is goon squad. Contenders. Looking for fireworks on the Carrefour.

Pulling for Gilbert among the two. Sagan looks to have cramped.

Outstanding race! All the toughest riders in the mix. Gilbert was the strongest and the smartest. Hard to beat that combination.

Is this the excuse I need to once again watch Phil win Lombardia in the rain? It is.

Vanmarcke devastated by shifting locking up. Saw somebody else (van Aert?) with the same problem. The reason why Sagan and Cancellara ride mechanical in P-R.

I started watching at kilometer 30 today. What a race. As soon as it ended I stepped out to a bar and watched the last 11 holes of The Masters. Phil rode a perfect race and then Tiger's performance on the back 9 of Augusta was special. Like Paris-Roubaix all the best golfers were grouped together late with a chance for glory but only one put on the green jacket. Long live sport what a spectacle today.

Yep, between a classsic Paris-Roubaix and an exciting Masters it was a great day for sport. And beautiful outside where I am, too.
